Storehouse NM

Storehouse NM We are a food pantry that provides FREE groceries to families/individuals once a calendar month. We provide FREE food to people in need.

The Storehouse food pantry gives out and average of 60 meals per family per visit. We are a private food pantry, not a government agency, so we rely on donations for our operation. Changes in food supply will result in changes to what foods are available. Please bring a valid Photo ID card or driver’s license for all adults in the household, and a birth certificate/school registration card for all minor children in the home.

Thank you to the Grow the Growers program for donating these BIG, BEAUTIFUL heads of bok choy to the Storehouse! 🥬

There was a lot of buzz in the food pantry as our volunteers were packing these huge veggies into carts, marveling over the size. We are sure our clients enjoyed them as well!

Bok choy is a type of Chinese cabbage rich in vitamin C and calcium, which is very important for bone health. It's mild in flavor and can be cooked in a variety of ways. You can steam it, sauté it, or throw it in soups for extra nutrition and a delightful crunchy texture!

Grow the Growers a tuition-free education program offered for individuals interested in farming. Offered through Bernalillo County NM, the program helps individuals learn a variety of farm production and business operation methods. Grow the Growers participants also work with partner farms to enhance their educational experiences.

Hey community! We need volunteers during the months of June, July, and August! ☀️🍎🌽📦🛒

During the school year, we are fortunate to have big groups from local schools help out around the pantry almost every week. With school out for the summer, we need your help to fill this gap in volunteer service!

Whether you want to bring your co-workers, book club, family, or friend group, we'd be thankful for your help in the coming months. ❤️ Individual volunteers are also welcome and appreciated.

👥 We welcome groups of up to 20 people. Volunteers must be ages 12 and up. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. Every volunteer must sign a waiver, and a parent signature is required for those under 18.

⏰ Generally, you can volunteer with us Tuesday–Saturday. The opening shift is from 8:30 AM–12:30 PM, and our second shift runs from 10:30 AM–2:30 PM. If those four-hour shifts don't work for your schedule, please let us know and we'll happily accommodate you.

📦🛒 When you volunteer with us, some of the tasks you may help with include filling carts with groceries, packing boxes with nonperishable items, filling produce bags, and helping clients push their carts outside and return them afterward.

👟 The Storehouse is a warehouse environment, so please wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes.

We'd love to have you this summer! Please share with anyone you know who may be interested. 😊

To get started with volunteering, call us at (505) 842-6491 or email us at [email protected].

Thank you all for your support!

The Storehouse is closed May 25-26, 2026 for volunteers.

Since our food pantry is closed on Mondays, our team will be off Tuesday as a belated observance of the Memorial Day holiday.

We'll be back open Wednesday as usual for volunteers and food distribution.

Thank you to this incredible team from Clayton Homes for spending part of their Saturday morning with us and coming back to volunteer at the Storehouse! 💙

Clayton Homes works to help create opportunities for attainable housing, and we appreciate that same spirit of community support being shared with us at the food pantry. Their team helped fill grocery carts with meats, fresh fruits and veggies, dairy products and more to help us feed local families.

We’re grateful for your hard work, compassion, and commitment to helping others.
