We're so grateful for the support we received from all the companies that donated to The Grief Center's Bereavement Facilitator training last month! These 2-day training events are held twice each year and are so important to our mission. Bereavement Facilitator volunteers lead Grief Center support groups and help with other programs throughout the year. They are vital in our ability to provide grief programs at no cost year after year.

Last week The Grief Center found out how much we raised through the Community Charity Golf Classic that was held in June, and we were so excited and so grateful! Our CEO, Deb Garrison, Director of Development, Jennifer Galloway, and Development Associate, Jorie Weyer, went to for the BIG CHECK REVEAL 🎉 It was the moment we've been waiting for - and it was also so nice to catch up with everyone we hadn't seen since tournament day.

⛳Thank you to the Community Charity Golf Classic's Board of Directors! The Grief Center submitted a grant application 3 times to be part of this wonderful event that raises so much money for New Mexico kids. The third time was the charm, and we are so thankful that we were chosen to join the fun! We get to be part of the 2027 and 2028 tournaments as well 💜

⛳Thank you to the companies and individuals that sponsored our Tee Signs and Swag items, and to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket from The Grief Center!

⛳Thank you to our volunteers who spent the day at Twin Warriors golf course with us! Our small staff needed the help, and we can always count on our Community Alliance volunteers to show up, no matter the event (or temperature)!

⛳Thank you to all the amazing and generous companies that supported this event this year! Every sponsorship, tee sign, raffle ticket, and donation went to support The Grief Center and two other incredible Albuquerque non-profits: New Mexico Child First Network and Locker #505! 🫶

The Grief Center in Albuquerque offers support and resources to children, teens, and adults who have experienced a death. In our small corner of social media, we share information all throughout the year to bring awareness to grief and how people can access support.

How can you help The Grief Center spread awareness all year long? SO GLAD YOU ASKED! Because New Mexico is #1 in the nation for childhood bereavement, and we need your help to reach grieving kids and families:

💜Share our posts on social media. Something as quick as a share to your Stories could reach someone in your circle who you never knew needed support.

💜Invite your friends to our fundraiser events. We regularly hold events that bring community together, combining fun and meaningful impact, to support grieving people in New Mexico. Events are a great way to get involved, learn about The GC, and enjoy an experience with your friends.

💜Attend and/or share The Grief Center's training and educational events. We offer free webinars throughout the year covering topics from Navigating Traumatic Loss to Supporting Grieving Students. A grief-informed community means better support for our friends, families, and colleagues when loss happens.

💜Get involved. The GC was created 25 years ago by ordinary (and wonderful) people who came together after loss and decided there needed to be a place for families like theirs. Each day, our donors, volunteers, and community have helped make The Grief Center what it is now. Your presence here helps others!

Twenty-five years ago, The Grief Center was founded on a simple belief: that no one should have to grieve alone. Since 2001, thousands of children, teens, and adults have found hope, healing, and support through our free grief programs. During some of life's most difficult moments, The Grief Center has been a place where people discover they are not alone and that healing is possible.

As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we're looking ahead to the future. Through ✨The Next 25✨ Campaign, we are working to ensure that grief support remains available at no cost for years to come for all who need it. Thanks to a generous $25,000 grant from The Sandia Foundation, we have already begun building toward this goal! 💜

We invite you to consider making a donation to The Grief Center - whether in honor of its long history, in support of its future, or in memory or in honor of someone you love - your contribution counts. Your support makes a difference in the lives of grieving kids and families in our communities. They need us, and we need you 🫶

🟢You can make a donation online on our secure website: http://griefnm.org/donate/ or by mailing a check to 4125 Carlisle Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107.

THANK YOU to The Sandia Foundation, and everyone who has donated in support of this special campaign so far. Thank you for being part of The Grief Center family and for helping us continue this vital mission!
