Long, but blessed update:
Today we were blessed to host our Youth Mingle Love in Action event, led by the Eastern Zone Nazarene Youth International Council and sponsored by Nazarene Missions International. It was truly a powerful and fulfilling day for our youth.
We began the day grounded in the Word, learning that prayer is simply a conversation with God. Through the T.A.C.O.S method, our youth were able to understand how to build a prayer in a simple and meaningful way, and you could see their confidence grow as they began praying for themselves and for others.
Before heading out to the community, the youth practiced how to approach people with respect, introduce themselves, and offer prayer. That preparation made a difference. Once we entered the community in Gallup, our youth stepped out in faith and began praying for individuals. Every person we approached accepted prayer, and not one person turned it away, which was both powerful and humbling.
They ministered to individuals who are unhoused and those facing addiction, alcoholism, and difficult life situations. Along with prayer, they distributed essential items, clothing, water, snacks, and prayer cards, meeting both physical and spiritual needs. It was incredible to see their faith grow, their confidence increase, and their hearts filled with gratitude to Jesus.
We want to give special thanks to the pastors from Twin Buttes Nazarene, Sand Mountain Nazarene, and Pine Hill Nazarene who poured into our youth and helped guide them throughout the day, including Pastor Samuel Alonzo Jr., Pastors Wilkinson and Yolanda Sage, and Reverend Maria. Your presence, leadership, and support made a lasting impact.
Thank you to our NMI District Chair, Martina Garcia for helping sponsoring this event and securing a majority of the donations. This is what it looks like when NYI and NMI come together in action through discipleship, evangelism, and compassion. We are so thankful for all of our pastors, leaders, and churches who supported, gave, and prayed. Because of your generosity, nearly all donated items were distributed and became a blessing to those we served. We gave away 98% of the items donated! Hugh Success!
We also want to recognize our NYI Eastern zone leadership team for helping plan and organize this event. Everyone agreed that this work should continue, and we would love for more churches across our eastern zone and district to join us as we begin planning the next outreach.
