Last week, the Alpha Tau Alumnae Chapter had the honor of attending the annual banquet, where sisters proudly presented the scholarship sponsored by the chapter.

MANA de Albuquerque is a volunteer-led nonprofit founded in 1981 as part of a national network dedicated to empowering Latinas. It focuses on helping women reach their full personal and professional potential through leadership development, community service, and advocacy, while also providing mentorship, scholarships, and support programs that strengthen both individuals and the broader community. MANA holds a special place in our hearts, as many of our sisters are actively involved at every level—from members to committee chairs and even board leadership positions.

We are forever grateful our chapter was able to help a wonderful organization and give back to Latinas in our community.🩶🌙

Alpha Tau Alumnae Chapter stands firmly in solidarity with Dolores Huerta and in full support of her decision to speak her truth after more than six decades of silence. We believe survivors. We affirm their voices. And we reject the systems that have historically enabled silence, protected power, and dismissed harm.

Dolores Huerta’s legacy as a labor leader and champion for farmworkers is undeniable. Her work has transformed the lives of countless families and strengthened movements for dignity, equity, and justice across the nation. That legacy is not diminished by acts of violence, it is strengthened by the courage it takes to confront them.

We call on our communities to stand with survivors, to listen without defensiveness, and to take action against cultures that allow harm to persist. Advocacy requires more than words. It demands accountability, protection, and a commitment to change.

We remain unwavering in our support of Dolores Huerta and all survivors, and will continue to advocate for justice, healing, and systemic transformation.
