GWBAA Vice President Vincent Mickens and Board Member Collin King were honored to attend last night's SunGate Foundation "Keys to Freedom Gala." GWBAA was invited by our partners at NBAA, including Dan Hubbard and Doug Carr (not pictured).

NBAA was proud to sponsor this impactful event supporting the mission of the SunGate Foundation, a survivor-led organization based in Alexandria, Virginia, dedicated to combating human trafficking and providing critical aftercare resources for survivors.

Earlier this year, NBAA partnered with the SunGate Foundation, Signature Aviation, and AAAE to launch Operation Flightline, an initiative focused on mitigating human trafficking through general aviation. Together, these organizations are raising awareness, strengthening education, and empowering aviation professionals to recognize and report the signs of trafficking.

The evening was truly inspiring, as attendees heard powerful stories of resilience, courage, and hope directly from survivors. Their experiences served as a reminder of the difference that compassionate support and collective action can make.

Today, members of the GWBAA Board of Directors were on hand representing the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia) at the NBAA White Plains Regional, hosted by Million Air at Westchester County Airport.

It was great to connect with so many friends, colleagues, and fellow business aviation professionals actively engaging with one another on a clear blue—albeit hot and humid—day. Events like these continue to showcase the strength of our industry and the value of meaningful connections across the business aviation community.

Today, GWBAA was proud to attend the Aero Club of Washington luncheon featuring special guest Jared Isaacman, Administrator of NASA. Isaacman shared valuable insights and engaged in a thoughtful discussion on NASA’s future investments in aerospace technology, innovation, and the evolving workforce needed to support the next era of space exploration.

Attendees also heard perspectives on NASA’s continued progress toward deep space missions, including the agency’s ambitious goals surrounding Artemis II and the capabilities of the Orion spacecraft. It was an informative and inspiring conversation about the future of aerospace and human spaceflight.

Today, GWBAA Vice President Vincent Mickens attended the annual member meeting of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), where an overwhelming turnout filled the AOPA National Aviation Community Center hangar at Frederick Municipal Airport.

With recent developments, industry challenges, and leadership changes top of mind, this year’s meeting drew one of the most robust attendances in recent memory, bringing together a passionate hangar full of AOPA member pilots. The gathering also provided an important forum for members to share candid, unfiltered perspectives—thoughtfully and eloquently expressed by nearly 20 pilots, including several who have proudly maintained their membership for more than 50 years.

A special note of appreciation to Vincent, who himself has been a dedicated AOPA member for 40 years, continuing a lifelong commitment to advancing and supporting general aviation.
