Albuquerque Environmental Action Coalition Some of you may know Alex and Leilani as the organizers of the 2013 New Mexico Walk for Wolves. Every aspect of the environment is interconnected.

Animal protection, sustainability, reducing our carbon footprints, responsible consumerism, and anything else we can do to help restore and retain the Earth's flora and fauna While we will ensure this event continues in the future, we have additional issues we are passionate about that is interconnected to wolf and coyote protections. Out interest is not limited to wildlife, but rather all facets of responsible environmentalism in New Mexico. From caring for local homeless pets, to fracking, to supporting local and sustainable business, we seek to exhibit some type of ACTION as the law allows to get our points across. We will not sit by idly or do the bare minimum and hope that things get better. Knowledge is power, and our goal is to educate anyone interested in knowing what important issues threaten the well being of our city, state, and our country.

🎃 It’s pumpkin season! We’re hoping to collect 100 pumpkins (any size or color) for our resident wildlife this fall. To help our team safely secure donations before the wild javelina discover them, we’re offering designated pumpkin drop-off days this year. Between 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, you can drop off pumpkins at Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center on the following days:
- Friday, September 25th
- Monday, September 28th
- Wednesday, September 30th
- Friday, October 2nd

Thank you to everyone who is helping make this special fall treat possible for our animals!

Garage Sale Day 1: I could say our garage sale opened with a hot air balloon and while close by (at the nearby school) it had nothing to do with us. Never the less thanks to Yvonne, Mercedes, Margaret, C Rex, Ray, Tania, Nancy, Frances GAU and Frances GAR and Debbie we did indeed get off to a flying start. Frances, Ray, C Rex and Debbie started putting out tables and merchandise at 6AM and it was pretty brisk, but as time progressed the layers were shed and by 8 everyone was in short sleeves. We had a wide range of merchandise and sales ranged from brisk to boring. On the average I would sales were paced well. Deals were to be had like the gentleman that got 100 blu ray DVDs for $100. Bargaining was the word. Nothing strikes me at the moment as the "sale of the day" but all the sales go towards the preservation of prairie dogs so all is good! Thanks to all of you who helped or contributed or purchased! Tomorrow we start again at 8AM! Hope to see you there! Hope to sell you something!
