Next week is IGRA World Finals 2026, and the New Mexico Gay Rodeo Association is looking forward to joining our rodeo family in Oklahoma City as we celebrate 50 years of Gay Rodeo!

If you’re heading to World Finals, be sure to check out the International Gay Rodeo Association Meet & Greet on Wednesday, October 21, at The County Line Club & Pool!

The evening begins at 7 PM with a chance to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and kick off an exciting weekend of rodeo competition and celebration!

Enjoy 2-for-1 domestic beers, happy hour prices on well drinks, and even take a ride on the mechanical bull!

We look forward to seeing everyone in Oklahoma City and cheering on all the contestants representing their associations!

NMGRA’s Rodeo Rewind Thursday

Today, we're throwing it back to when our very own Anna Konda Williams, Miss New Mexico Gay Rodeo 2025 and Miss International Gay Rodeo 2026, was crowned Miss New Mexico Gay Rodeo alongside Seliah DeLeon, Miss New Mexico Gay Rodeo 2024 & 2026!

And if there's one thing we know, it's that whenever these two are together, you're guaranteed a good time! From the laughter and unforgettable moments to their shared love for the gay rodeo community, Anna and Seliah always know how to bring the fun!

We're incredibly proud of these two and the dedication, passion, and love they continue to bring to NMGRA and the entire gay rodeo community!

Later this month, NMGRA will be heading to El Reno, Oklahoma, for IGRA World Finals, where we'll celebrate and honor Anna Konda as she steps down as Miss International Gay Rodeo 2026 and cheer on Seliah as she competes for the title of Miss International Gay Rodeo 2027!

We can't wait to celebrate these two incredible representatives of New Mexico!

Happy National Coming Out Day!

Today, the New Mexico Gay Rodeo Association celebrates the courage, strength, and authenticity of our LGBTQ+ community.

For 50 years, gay rodeo has been more than just competition. It has been a place where people can come together, be themselves, build lifelong friendships, and find a family that accepts them for exactly who they are.

Coming out is a personal journey, and everyone’s story is different. Whether you’ve been out for decades, recently found the courage to share your truth, or are still on your journey, know that you are seen, valued, and supported.

At NMGRA, we believe everyone deserves a place to belong, both inside and outside the rodeo arena.

Be proud of who you are, love who you love, and never be afraid to live your truth.

Celebrating 50 Years of Gay Rodeo!

A special message from Thom Sloan, IGRA Public Relations Chair:

As we prepare to close out an incredible 50th anniversary year of gay rodeo, IGRA invites everyone to be part of a special moment at the 2026 World Gay Rodeo Finals!

Join us Saturday morning at 9:30 AM in the arena, before the rodeo begins, for three special group photos honoring the people who have helped make gay rodeo what it is today.

1. Women of Rodeo
2. All IGRA Member Association Participants, including contestants, officials, and volunteers
3. Gay Rodeo Pioneers, all IGRA member association participants who began their involvement before 2000

Professional photographer Kit Karzen will be capturing these special moments.

From those who paved the way to those carrying the tradition forward, we invite everyone to come together and celebrate 50 years of history, community, and rodeo pride!

The Albuquerque Social Club is hosting Glitter & Grit with dance lessons starting at 7 PM and an open dance floor at 8 PM.

Learn two-step, waltz, line dancing and more. All levels are welcome and no partner is needed.

Free for ASC members and $10 for guests.

A great chance to get out, dance, and support another LGBTQ+ community space in Albuquerque.

Today, we're throwing it back to when our very own Opa Leez, the first-ever MX New Mexico Gay Rodeo, was sashed as MX International Gay Rodeo 2026 2nd Runner-Up!

We couldn't be prouder of Opa and the incredible way they have represented New Mexico on the international stage! Their dedication, passion, and commitment to the gay rodeo community have been nothing short of amazing, and we are honored to have them as part of the NMGRA family!

As NMGRA heads to IGRA World Finals later this month, we invite everyone to join us as we celebrate Opa and the entire IGRA Royalty Team, recognizing their hard work, accomplishments, and dedication throughout their reign!

The New Mexico Gay Rodeo Association (NMGRA) is excited to share an upcoming event from the Imperial Sovereign Court of New Mexico (ISCNM)!

Join them on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 3 PM to 6 PM at Sidewinders Bar & Grill for The White Lotus: A White Party, celebrating Reign ###III Investitures!

Come meet members of the Reign ###III Royal Family, including Absolute Imperial Emperor ###III Cairo Jones Steel, and learn how you can get involved with the Imperial Court.

All funds raised will benefit their Holiday Drive, helping support the community during the holiday season.
