A Light in the Night Community Outreach After I moved here to NM 18 years ago, within a few months I heard on the news that one of our local homeless people died of exposure.

A Light in the Night Community Outreach is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization seeking to improve the health, safety, and well-being of the men, women, and children of Albuquerque's homeless community. That means he froze to death on the side walk! I couldn't wrap my head or heart around that...and at that moment was moved to act. So, I printed up some flyers and put a small donation box out at my

school and began to ask people to donate winter items. The response of donations and volunteers has grown steadily over the years and now it has expanded to year around help. I'm deeply grateful to be able to help my community and for the actions of all of donors and volunteers....

With the temperature this hot on the sidewalks there should be cooling stations throughout the city especially for vulnerable populations..

We worked so hard today! We got this place looking good for our KRQE event on Friday!
You heard me right! Folx from KRQE will be volunteering with us from 9-1pm and doing an interview with us! If you are able to come help that would be great. Wear your A Light in the Night shirt! Our volunteers will start at 8am for our pre-event meeting. Please let me know if you can come help!
And thank you everyone who worked so hard today!
