New Mexico's primary election is today, June 2. Your voice is powerful!

Today's results will shape who appears on the general election ballot — and who will ultimately make decisions about the policies and funding that affect survivors across the state.

NMCSAP encourages all New Mexicans to vote today. Find your polling location at sos.nm.gov.

June is Pride Month. We celebrate the strength, joy, and history of LGBTQIA+ communities and survivors in New Mexico and beyond

Sexual violence affects LGBTQIA+ people at disproportionate rates. Inclusive, culturally responsive care is not optional — it is essential.

We remain committed to ensuring every person has access to safe, affirming, and survivor-centered services, no matter who they are or who they love.

Image Description: Large bold text reads "PRIDE" in rainbow colors and "MONTH" in black. Below, body text reads: "Celebrating the strength, joy, and history of LGBTQIA+ communities and survivors in New Mexico and beyond." over a cream background and a rainbow stripe across the top. The NMCSAP logo is in the bottom left corner.

Another critical resource for survivors is expanding in New Mexico.

Arise SAS has opened a new location in Clovis, increasing access to support for survivors and their families across eastern New Mexico. This expansion means more people can receive the care, advocacy, and services they need closer to home and when it matters most.

We’re grateful to the Arise team and executive director Sarah Long for continuing to show up for their communities and for creating spaces where survivors are seen, supported, and surrounded by care.

Help is available 24/7:
For those in the Clovis and Portales area, reach Arise Sexual Assault Services at: (575) 226-7263
For those across New Mexico, contact the NM Sexual Assault Helpline at: 1-844-667-2457 or www.nmsahelp.org

Arise Sexual Assault Services opens a new office to better serve survivors in Eastern NM"" Beneath it is a photo of six people holding balloons and smiling beside a sign with Arise's 24/7 helpline number 575-226-7263.

Funding survivor housing services isn’t a choice. It’s a critical lifeline. We're grateful to Albuquerque City Councilor Nichole Rogers for introducing an amendment to the City Budget to restore $586,000 in funding for housing for survivors to Enlace Comunitario.

We are expanding our reach and we want the Clovis community there to kick it off! 🎉

Join us on Saturday, May 23rd from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at 1523 W 13th St as we open our newest location in eastern New Mexico.

Come meet our team, see our new home, and help us collect toys for survivors and their families. We are gratefully accepting new, wrapped toy donations only. Every gift is a tangible act of care for someone walking the road of healing. Come show survivors in Clovis they are seen, supported, and surrounded by care. 🧸

Asking for help is not weakness. Talking about what you're going through is not weakness. Real friendships and relationships are built on honesty and that takes courage. It might not always be easy but it’s worth it. It starts with us.

When federal funding is delayed, programs don't have the luxury of waiting. Most survivor services operate with limited reserves, which means a funding delay functions as a funding cut.

Here in New Mexico, programs providing crisis response, emergency shelter, legal advocacy, and support to survivors depend on federal grants to keep their doors open. Staffing reductions, waitlists, and service gaps are not hypothetical, they are what delayed funding produces.

Here's how you can help: Call 202-224-3121 and ask to be connected to the office of Sen. Martin Heinrich, Sen. Ben Ray Luján, Rep. Melanie Stansbury, Rep. Gabe Vasquez, or Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández. Tell them to press HHS and DOJ to publish overdue funding notices and release congressionally appropriated funds, now.

Take five minutes and make an impact for survivors and the programs that support them.

Federal funding for domestic violence shelters, r**e crisis centers, and programs serving survivors has been delayed. Programs across the country, including here in New Mexico, are feeling it.

We are joining with advocates nationwide to call on Congress to act. The Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Justice must publish overdue funding notices for the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act and the Office on Violence Against Women, and release those funds without further delay.

Call your legislators now at 202-224-3121 to tell Congress that survivors deserve programs that stay open, staffed, and ready to respond.
