The Optimist Club of Albuquerque in conjunction with the Albuquerque Police Department would like to 🎉 Congratulate Officer Jeremy Wolffbrandt and Officer Mahesh Maddini for receiving the 🚔🌟 Award in February 2024! We are proud to honor their outstanding service and dedication to keeping safe. 👏👮‍♂️👮‍♀️

Officer Wolffbrandt is part of the Bomb Squad and participated in the US Bomb Technician Association, "Top Bomb Tech" Critical Skills Challenge in 2023 with his final score putting him in 3rd place and he will be recognized by Congress next year.

Officer Madinni has excelled with the large enforcement of traffic laws (213 last month) while concurrently making significant felony arrests. He provides thorough communication and fact gathering skills that provide our community a great service that includes arresting violent offenders.🌟👮‍♀️ 🚔

We had a great time last night at the at 🎃 Scare-A-Ton Halloween Party for families. Their was a carnival, trick-or-treating, and a cake walk. The Optimists helped with the cake walk🧁🎂. It was a Great Time!👻💀😈🤖

The annular solar eclipse is happening this Saturday (10/14) in Albuquerque, with a partial eclipse expected to begin at 9:11am and the annular phase to begin at approximately 10:34am, where the sun will appear as a dazzling thin ring. 🕦💫 NOTE: This is the last annular solar eclipse that will be visible from the United States until June 21, 2039! 📅🌟

In addition to the AmaZing Balloon Fiesta celebration, on October 14th witness the balloons' "eclipse glow" on the launch field during the annular solar eclipse darkness 🌘 🌌 The annular eclipse phenomenon occurs when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun, and it's at its furthest point from Earth, creating a stunning "ring of fire" effect in the sky. 🔥🌞 Albuquerque is one of 8 states who will experience the "ring of fire" from the eclipse.
