✨ Coming Spring 2027: Body As Living Story — Healing Arts III!

Ready for a learning experience that invites you to explore the connections between creativity, the body, healing, and the human experience?

We're excited to announce that Body As Living Story: Healing Arts III will be offered in the Spring 2027 semester! This innovative course invites students to explore the healing arts in an engaging, interdisciplinary learning environment.

🌿 New to the Healing Arts courses? You can still join us! You do not need to have taken Healing Arts I or II before enrolling in Healing Arts III.

This course has been a favorite among students, and previous offerings have filled quickly. If you're interested, keep an eye out for registration details and plan to secure your spot early!

Come explore the ways our bodies, stories, and creative practices intersect—and discover a fresh perspective on the healing arts.

🍄🌿 A little mushroom magic from the Children’s Psychiatric Center!
During our Earthy Encounters creative sessions, young artists transformed recycled and repurposed materials into their own colorful collection of mushrooms.
It's always exciting to see what happens when we combine nature, imagination, and a few materials that might otherwise be overlooked. ✨
Our young artists remind us that creativity can grow just about anywhere!

🪨✨ Little rocks, big creativity!
Patients and family members at the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center turned ordinary rocks into colorful little works of art.
From patterns and pictures to words and imaginative designs, every rock tells its own creative story.
We're always inspired by what happens when people are given a few simple materials and the opportunity to make something of their own. 💙

🎨✂️ Inspired by Matisse!
At the Carrie Tingley Hospital Rehab Unit, a little art history became the starting point for a creative encounter.
After learning about the life and work of Henri Matisse and exploring his colorful paper cutouts, our visual art facilitator and a patient created their own Matisse-inspired artwork.
It's always exciting to see how learning about an artist can spark new ideas—and how inspiration can become something entirely personal and original. 💙

🌀 What can you create with a line?
Our young artists at the Children’s Psychiatric Center explored neurographic art and Zentangle-inspired drawing, filling their pages with lines, patterns, shapes, and imagination. 🎨
