Nourish International - UNM

Nourish International - UNM Nourish International is a student movement that works to eliminate global poverty through innovation and entrepreneurship.

Alleviating poverty one project at a time:

Every summer, Nourish at UNM engages in two sustainable development projects. While many of our past projects have focused on increasing access to healthcare, the possibilities are endless. We search for partnership opportunities in the developing world where we can tackle complex issues like education, healthcare, and agriculture. The partner organizati

on and members of the local community take the leading role in the implementation and continuity of the project while we work closely with them to help in any way we can. The goal is to make a lasting and positive impact on the community and this system has proven itself to be an effective process. Past Projects:
Summer 2011 - replaced roofing materials and fenced in the local well in Nicaragua
Summer 2012 - began work on health clinic in Peru and constructed work center for local women to start a business in Ghana
Summer 2013 - continued work on health clinic in Peru and helped increase agricultural production as well as the building of a community center in Cameroon
Summer 2014 - built health clinics in Nicaragua and Peru

The duration of each project is about 4-6 weeks and takes place between May and August. You do not have to be a member of Nourish to go on a project, though it is encouraged!
