We're very excited to hold the ground school at the Balloon Museum for the first time - explore balloon systems up close and personal while you're learning to fly. This will be our last in-person ground school until February 2027, so don't miss this opportunity to learn first-hand from some of the world's most experienced pilots. Registration includes course materials and a log book endorsement to take the written FAA exam.

We would like to thank all of the volunteers, pilots and their crews for coming out to the May Flying Event. We had a fantastic morning for both Flying Competition and Crew Games.

The Flying Competition was a Hare and Hound. Thanks to Steve Coffing, Chicklet, and the Chic-Fil-A balloon team for volunteering to be the Hare! We had several pilots make an attempt on the target and 9 pilots managed to get points on the board.

Third place: Edd Troxclair - 6.26m
Second place: Robert Richardson - 4.23m
First place: Keith Takach - .77m

Congrats to all pilots who competed.

The Crew Games Competition was a great success. It was a race for fastest inflation. The clock started from the time the basket hit the ground till the time the balloon took off. We had 16 crews sign up and 14 competed in the task. Extra points were added to each crew team for General Meeting attendance and creative pictures submitted.

Third place: Sandia Sunrise - 180 pts
Second place: Wonder Woman - 190 pts

Tie for first place:
Double Trouble - 200 pts
IONA - 200 pts

Thank you again to all who came out to this month's Flying Event. We had a fantastic time spending our morning with you all. Hope to see you at the General Meeting on May 26th. Don't forget you can receive extra Crew Games points for attending the meeting.

*Both Flying Events and Crew Games scores are updated on the Website.*
