Worthogs Homebrew Club The Worthogs Homebrew club where we gather to learn about the art and science of brewing. Guests are welcome.

Worthogs Homebrew Club are a group of beer enthusiasts dedicated to developing our skills as homebrewers, sharing this knowledge with others, and enjoying camaraderie around our shared love of all things beer and brewing. We meet monthly to discuss club business, plan group events, learn about aspects of brewing, and sample each others beers. Worthogs Home Brew Club meeting in the books. Neil did a talk about sour and funky beers, enlightening us about Brettanomyces, Lactobacillus, and Pedicoccus and offered samples of kettle sour, spontaneously fermented, lambic and wild fermented beers.

We also tasted the 4 humbprint variations brewed of the beer "Lifehack" from and they were delicious, and as usual, tastes our homebrewed beers from the members🍺

August Club meeting! Thank you for providing us the space🤩🍺🫶

Neil spoke about hops and hop care as well as insights on dry hopping for our next competition; double and triple IPA.

We also exchanged out 12 Beers of Summer ☀️

Club meeting Thursday, August 7th will be at Turtle Mountain
Brewing, 905 36th Place SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. As usual the social
starts at 6pm and the meeting starts at 6:30pm.

The topic of the meeting is "Put the hops in the beer, drink 'em both
down" - a talk about dry hopping by Neil Arnote

✨️We will be having our "12 beers of Summer" exchange at this meeting✨️

Please bring your beers to be exchanged in 12 oz bottles or 22oz
bottles. Each participant will get either two 12 oz bottles of one 22oz
bottle. Please respond to Jared's semail.

We will also be starting our Thumbprint Challenge - A Citra Pale Ale
made with different Kveik yeasts. We will have four teams and the teams
have until our October meeting to have their beer ready. The beer kits
will be given to the team captains at this meeting.

Collaboration brew with ! A saison is now fermenting after a hard days work😄

Thank you SO much, John, for being such a fun, gracious, and patient host!🙌👌

Our next meeting will be this Thursday July 10th at Thirsty Eye Brewing,
206 Broadway Blvd. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. As usual the social starts
at 6pm and the meeting starts at 6:30pm.

For this meeting we ask that you bring out your beers/mead/ciders etc. We will be tasting one at a time and will give constructive
feedback about it, like aroma, flavors, body, etc. and discuss any flaws
that might be present, any improvements, and any kudos.

John will also be discussing our collaboration brew with Thirsty Eye!✨️🍺

    - Benny has setup a collaboration brew with Thirsty Eye to brew up a
Saison.
    - If you have not already sent them one of your Saison recipes,
please do ASAP! Let us know and we'll give you the email.

Our Worthog June meeting is in the books with the tasting and voting of Round Two of our "Brewer of the Year Competition". The category this time was "Non-Beer Only - Mead, Cider, Wine (Fruit, Vegetable and/or Spice).

We had 13 entries, ranging from mead to tepache as well as cider and wine, and this time tried a new way of blind tasting all the entries, which worked really well.

We also welcomed our new members: Wyatt and Thomas🥳😃
