UA-UNM is declaring: Workers Over Billionaires this May Day.

We commit to march.

We will be joining dozens of New Mexico labor unions and community organizations and marching through the streets of Albuquerque with thousands of our fellow workers.

This event builds on the massive May Day mobilizations last year, when more than 3,000 people took to the streets of Albuquerque and hundreds of thousands rallied in over 1,000 events nationwide. Organizers expect an even larger turnout this May Day as attacks on working people, immigrants, and public services escalate.

UA-UNM stands in full solidarity with Dolores Huerta and every survivor who has come forward in the wake of the New York Times investigation into the actions of César Chávez.

We believe survivors. Unequivocally and without reservation.

The Senate Finance Committee voted to offer all public employees, including all higher ed workers, a ZERO percent (0%) compensation increase.

Contact your representatives and explain why all higher ed workers deserve, at a minimum, a true cost of living adjustment. And contact them ASAP. The legislature ends this Friday, which is 2/20, but we got you. The QR codes on our slides will help you find your legislator and write your letter!

We need to send a strong message that a zero percent (0%) compensation increase is unacceptable and will worsen our already existing recruitment and retention crisis.

(Pictured, slide one says, "Tell your legislator a 0% increase is unacceptable. The Senate Finance Committee voted to offer all public employees, including higher ed, a ZERO percent (0%) compensation increase. Tell your representatives why all higher ed workers deserve a true cost of living adjustment. Use the template letter on the next slide." And there's a QR code to find your legislator. / slide two says, "Tell your legislator NOW a zero percent wage increase is not okay. You can write a letter using the template at the QR code below. Plus, find your legislator using the QR code on the previous slide." There is a QR code to the template letter in the bottom left hand corner, and the UA-UNM logo in the bottom right hand corner.)
