Mercy should never make its recipient arrogant.
It should make us worship—and transform the way we see those who are still far from God.
Romans 9 removes every reason for spiritual pride. Our heritage cannot save us. Our goodness cannot qualify us. Our effort cannot earn God’s favor.
We were not rescued because we were better at being lost.
We were rescued because God is merciful.
This week’s devotional, Why Mercy at All?, explores the sovereign mercy of God and the freedom of obeying Him from gratitude—not to earn the favor Jesus has already secured.

“Remember who you are—and whose you are.”
Romans 8 tells us that those led by the Spirit are children of God. But our identity doesn’t stop there. We are also heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ.
That identity should shape how we live, how we respond to correction, and how we represent our Father in the world. We do not obey from the fear of slaves, but from the security of sons and daughters who know they are deeply loved.
The everlasting love of God calls us to remember whose name we carry—and to live like we belong to Him.

You weren’t saved just to be forgiven... you were saved to be free.
Fear.
Anxiety.
People-pleasing.
The endless pressure to prove yourself.
Sometimes the things that weigh us down aren’t obvious sins—they’re old grave clothes from a life Jesus already called us out of.
Romans 6 reminds us that we are no longer slaves to sin. So why do we keep wearing what belongs in the tomb?
This week’s devotional explores the freedom Christ purchased for us—and the invitation to finally leave the old life behind.

We all want confident faith, but few of us want the process that produces it.
Romans 5 reminds us that God doesn’t waste our trials. He uses them to build endurance. Endurance shapes our character. Character gives birth to a hope that doesn’t disappoint—because we’ve learned the faithfulness of God firsthand.
Abraham wasn’t called God’s friend because his life was easy. He was called God’s friend because he learned to trust God through every season.
What if the trial you’re facing today isn’t pulling you away from God... but drawing you closer to Him?
This week’s devotional explores how God uses every hardship to deepen our relationship with Him.

There is a kind of joy that cannot stay quiet.
Romans 4 reminds us that righteousness isn’t something we earn—it is a gift we receive through faith.
And David knew what that gift felt like.
In Psalm 32, he describes the crushing weight of holding onto sin: his strength was gone, his spirit weary, the guilt heavy in his bones.
Then he confessed.
And God forgave.
The weight lifted.
“Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight!” —Romans 4:7
Repentance isn’t the miserable part of following Jesus. It is the doorway into freedom.
Because when we understand what we’ve been forgiven of—and what we’ve freely been given in Christ—joy becomes more than happiness.
It becomes something the storms of life cannot wash away.

Not all forgiveness is the same.
Many Christians live as though Jesus simply pardoned their sins.
But Romans 3 reveals something far greater.
A pardon removes a penalty.
Justification restores a person.
Through Christ, God didn’t just cancel our debt—He clothed us in His righteousness. We don’t stand before Him hoping we’ve done enough.
We stand before Him because Jesus already has.
This week’s devotional explores one of the most beautiful truths of the gospel and why understanding justification changes the way we live every single day.
