Indigenous Peopleās Day š today and everyday!
May Indigenous people everywhere and their world views, ways, and truths be strong and lasting.
May they be safe from harm, healthy, and well!
May we all work to heal the wounds of white settler colonialism.
May we be in right relationship to each other, yoga, and the land and waters, breath and fire that sustain our lives.
I went to visit these aspens a couple days ago, it appears to be a grove of separate trees, but they are all connected, one organism. If one tree suffers, the others send it nutrition.
Yoga with Avery continues to donate 10% net to Honor Native Land Tax and other initiatives to support
Indigenous sovereignty, dignity, and the ability to thrive within and beyond colonial systems.
Even as a low income person this consistent practice adds up to a meaningful contribution. Money isnāt everything but it is helpful.
I encourage esp my fellow white folks living on stolen land, benefiting from colonial violence, to join me in this practice.
This can be part of a spiritual practice, part of your yoga sadhana.
One group I like to support, sometimes direct, sometimes via Honor Native Land Tax, is Tewa Women United.
Check out the good work happening at Tewa Women United āļø
