Yesterday, Darby walked out of the shelter with a family. Today, she was brought back because she was “too active.” 💔

Darby is only a year old, and some dogs, puppies and adults, are simply active dogs. They want to run, play, explore, chase a ball, go for walks, and be part of what their family is doing. That doesn’t make them a bad dog. It just means they need a home that fits them.

Darby needs someone who understands that before she can curl up beside you on the couch or snuggle into bed at night, she may need to get those zoomies out first! 🐾Give her a safe place to run, play with her, take her on walks or adventures, toss a ball around the yard, and give her the mental and physical activity she needs.

An active dog can still be your cuddle buddy. 🤍Sometimes they just need the chance to burn off their energy before they’re ready to settle in beside you.

And please remember, a new dog also needs time to adjust. One day isn’t much time for a dog to understand a brand-new home, new people, new routines, and new expectations.

Darby deserves another chance, this time with someone who sees her energy and thinks, “You’ll fit right in with us.” 🥹🖤

She is back at Valencia County Animal Shelter and waiting all over again for someone to choose her.

Bruno was almost surrendered today, and now this handsome boy is hoping his unexpected stay at the shelter will lead him to the forever home he deserves. 🥺

If you know Boxers, you know they are some of the sweetest, funniest little characters around, and just look at that face! Bruno has so much personality packed into those big brown eyes and adorable squishy cheeks.

At only 2 years old, Bruno has his whole life ahead of him. He deserves the chance to be someone’s best friend, to have a home where he is loved and included, and to show a family just how special he can be.

Please give Bruno a chance. Sometimes the dog you weren’t planning on meeting ends up being the one you can’t imagine living without.

Update ! Mama Georgia has been adopted

Yesterday was such a happy day for Georgia’s babies , every single one of them went to a home! 🥹❤️

They each left the shelter to begin their new lives.

But Mama Georgia is still there.

Georgia is only 2 years old and has been such a sweet, loving mama to her little family. Now that her babies are gone, we can’t help but wonder how much she already misses them. Her kennel is suddenly a whole lot quieter.

She did her job, Mama. She raised those babies and watched them find their homes.

Now it’s Georgia’s turn.

This beautiful girl deserves to know what it feels like to be the one chosen , to leave the shelter behind, curl up somewhere safe and loved, and finally have a family of her very own.

If you have room in your home and your heart and you’ve been thinking about adding a forever dog to your family, please consider Georgia.

Rest easy, Henry 🫶🏻

Today we received a lovely tribute donation in memory of Henry. Heather lost her Henry recently and her friend wanted to honor their special love with a donation to Viva to help more pups. Here’s to Henry and his Heather.

“In happy memory, of Henry, our long time friend, Heather’s tail wagging buddy. He was a gentle soul who took great care of his Heather through good and bad. Henry was a rescue from Tulsa, Oklahoma who found his forever home with his darling Heather, where he found all the love a pup could want. Henry’s best times were being with his pal Heather, so we would like to donate in Henry’s name to Viva in hopes that other pups can have the chance Henry did finding their Heather.”
