We just wrapped up a beautiful two day gathering of farmers from around the state and several Pueblos. It’s very moving to hear farmers share their challenges and hopes and troubleshoot with each other to support each other‘s farms.

SB 193 (Senator Pete Campos, Senator Leo Jaramillo, & Representative Anita Gonzales) has officially passed both the Senate and the House and is now headed to the Governor’s desk!

The Acequia and Community Ditch Infrastructure Fund (ACDIF) is the only source of recurring annual funding dedicated specifically to acequia infrastructure. Administered by the Acequia Bureau of the Interstate Stream Commission, the fund has a strong track record of moving projects efficiently from planning and design to construction. Each year, requests exceed available funds. This increase would allow more critical projects to move forward in communities that depend on them.

Please write or call the Governor and respectfully urge her to sign SB 193.

Learn from Native Nations, uplift Native voices, support Native owned businesses, and take meaningful steps beyond land acknowledgments. Together, we can protect sovereignty, preserve culture, educate youth, and build capacity.
