It's been 12 days, I think it's now safe to say that Koocess (our longest foster dog ever!) has official found her forever home. ❤️ I'm so happy she finally has her own family & a new sister she seems to adore! I honestly thought she would never find her forever family. I'm so Thankful she found such an incredible amazing family to love her! she's probably very happy to be out in the country with lots of space to frolic & play! Thank you again to her new family for offering their heart & home to this special girl! I sure do miss her but so happy she is where she is right now ❤️

FREE PIT BULL TRAINING DURING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER!

Animal Welfare’s goal is to get much-needed resources to these dogs and the folks who love them. Understanding the breed of a Pit Bull is the first step to being a responsible pet owner. A well-trained Pit Bull can be a wonderful ambassador for his or her breed, showing the world that Pit Bulls make wonderful pets. Education and responsible owners are critical in changing the negative perception of this breed.

Animal Welfare Department staff would like to express heartfelt appreciation to Kennel Kompadrs, Petco, Boofy’s Best for Pets, Pet Safe, Sandia Pet Products and the volunteer dog trainers for their enthusiasm and generous sponsorship in their efforts to help end the current cycle of public misconception and homelessness among Pit Bulls.

A BROKEN HEART.......

Yes....this is a horribly graphic picture. But let me give you the visual that you did not get to see but need to share with others. This dog was turned into us today and within a couple of hours, he began to throw up massive amounts of blood.

We got him into the back of Mariah2's vehicle and one of our other workers, Donnie jumped in with this dog, cradling him in his lap trying to console him as they raced off to the vet. They only got a few miles down the road before this dog's heart gave out, Donnie covered in blood like a murder scene as he took his last breath and Donnie desperately tried to give him CPR.

They continued on their way to the vet, dead dog laying in Donnie's lap, blood splattered all over the back of the vehicle, Donnie's arms, hands, legs, face......are you picturing this yet???

Our vet opened this poor dog up and this is what she found. His heart surrounded by hundreds of heartworms. I know.....you feel like throwing up right now. This photo is disgusting, right??? Well imagine how our workers and my kids feel each day as we are exposed to this. Shelters and rescues around the country see these same things as well.

Share this photo. Shove it in their face. For a few damn dollars a month......you wouldn't be having nightmares tonight

Rest In Peace Banner.
