We enjoyed hosting several members for our 80%/20% Training Clinic for endurance sports competitors this past Sat. Here are the Cliff Notes: Walk 4 β€œtoo easy” pace sessions (80%) with rest/recovery day(s) between each walking session day. Walk 1 session (20%) using a high intensity method, i.e. race pace, intervals, longer distance, hill work. Follow the high intensity session with more rest/recovery days. The walking sessions are the stimulus to the body and the recovery days are when the body’s adaptation occurs. The goal over time is a reduction in your walking heart rate while efficiently increasing your oxygen intake while competing. The running community has been using the 80/20 method for years with great results. We can, too! Our sincere thanks to Leslie Herman for presenting warm-up exercises and post-walk stretchingπŸ’›

What a perfect day for a pizza pitch-in! We sincerely thank Cindy and Richard Wagner for hosting our club members. Thanks also to Darly Barkley for bringing the delicious pizzas to go with the unique and tasty side dishes brought by the rest of us. We were graciously guided by Cindy and Richard on a walk around their beautiful and sacred property.
