New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranch Our programs offer kids a safe place to live, a personalized plan to address their needs & goals, with individualized education & counseling.

To provide services for young people and families for a brighter tomorrow. The Mission Statement for The Ranches is, “Rekindling Hope in Today’s Youth.” When combined with the purpose statement, “To provide services for young people and families in pursuit of a brighter tomorrow,” a truth emerges: the power of hope to transform lives. Our Mission statement not only defines what we do, but the difference we want to make. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “Everything that is done in the world is done by hope.” As a Christian organization we know the importance of good values, including hope. However, such values are useless unless they also become important to the individual young people who utilize our programs. Hope includes many facets: seeing ourselves as valuable, having a vision for our future, having the skills needed to provide for our own needs, finding a profession that we enjoy, feeling safe, knowing how to develop a healthy support system, finding love and knowing there is a loving God who cares about us. While development of this vision for our future often takes years, when young people believe such things are possible, they are transformed by their hope.

Throughout these coming months, we will continue working to meet each child exactly wherethey are. Some are carrying fears about their future. Some continue to struggle academically andneed extra support to stay on track and continue progressing in their education. A new activity, a job oncampus, time with animals, a successful day at school, or simply accomplishing something they have worked hard to achievecan make a tremendous difference. Experiences like these give kids the opportunity to see themselves in a different light.

Getting ready for the Southern New Mexico State Fair takes plenty of hard work—and maybe a little coffee, too! ☕🐮

Come along as one of our residents gives us a behind-the-scenes look at how we’re getting our animals ready for the fair and introduces us to Jupiter, the heifer she’ll be showing this year.

And since today is , we couldn’t let her go without asking one very important question: How does she take her coffee? ☕😄

They are learninga new environment, meeting new people, and adjusting to expectations that may be very different from what they haveexperienced before. For some, simply getting comfortable enough to trust the people around them can take time.
