New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranch

New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranch Our programs offer kids a safe place to live, a personalized plan to address their needs & goals, with individualized education & counseling.

To provide services for young people and families for a brighter tomorrow. The Mission Statement for The Ranches is, “Rekindling Hope in Today’s Youth.” When combined with the purpose statement, “To provide services for young people and families in pursuit of a brighter tomorrow,” a truth emerges: the power of hope to transform lives. Our Mission statement not only defines what we do, but the diff

erence we want to make. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “Everything that is done in the world is done by hope.” As a Christian organization we know the importance of good values, including hope. However, such values are useless unless they also become important to the individual young people who utilize our programs. Hope includes many facets: seeing ourselves as valuable, having a vision for our future, having the skills needed to provide for our own needs, finding a profession that we enjoy, feeling safe, knowing how to develop a healthy support system, finding love and knowing there is a loving God who cares about us. While development of this vision for our future often takes years, when young people believe such things are possible, they are transformed by their hope.

What continues to stand out is the quiet transformation that happens over time. Confidence begins to take root. Responsibility becomes more consistent. Possibility starts to feel real. It is not sudden or perfect, but it is steady, and it is earned.

For many, graduation is an expected milestone, part of a natural progression through life. For the young people we serve, this moment carries a much deeper meaning. It represents late nights and early mornings, frustration and determination, and doubt that had to be overcome again and again. Most of all, it represents a daily decision to keep going.

Residents and Staff participated and encouraged each other in a Talent Show over the weekend! There was plenty of songs sung, dancing, and tons of fun. For our residents who are graduating this week, it was emotional knowing that it was their last Talent Show.

Over time, it becomes easy for a young person to believe that education is simply not meant for them. One of the most important things we strive to do at The Ranches is help change that belief.

This we celebrate our planet by celebrating our beautiful campus here at The Ranches! Did you know that The Ranches also has a wetlands area that becomes a home to migratory birds? We love where we live!

Family isn’t always defined by where you come from. Sometimes, it’s built through shared moments, laughter, support, and showing up for one another every day.

Many of our residents find more than just a safe place to grow. They find lifelong bonds that feel like family, whether it’s encouraging each other through hard days or making memories that turn into inside jokes.

Today, we’re celebrating the friendships that become family and last a lifetime. 💙🐴
