Lexiam Heart Foundation We are here to support children and families affected by Congenital Heart Defects in New Mexico.

Inspired by Brittany's son, Liam, and Leslee's daughter, Lexi, the Lexiam Heart Foundation is here to provide financial assistance, emotional support, and educational materials to families battling Congenital Heart Defects. We have walked through diagnosis, birth, surgeries and more with our own children, and even Liam's passing, so please reach out for any reason! We are in New Mexico and hope to build a strong support system, especially for families here.

❤️ WE ARE SO CLOSE! Help us cross the finish line!

Today is the day! 🏃‍♀️ The Run for the 1 in 100 is HERE, and thanks to your incredible generosity, Lexiam Heart Foundation has raised just over $21,000 toward our $25,000 goal! 🥹❤️

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for every single person who has donated, shared our posts, and helped spread the word. Every share matters. Every donation matters. And every act of kindness helps a New Mexico family facing the challenges of congenital heart disease.
Behind every dollar is a family navigating scary diagnoses, difficult decisions, hospital stays, and sometimes the heartbreaking reality of needing specialized care far from home. Your support helps ease the financial burden of traveling out of state to get their child the care they need. No family should have to face those challenges alone.

We are just $4,000 away from our goal, and we need your help to make this final push! Whether you can give $5, $25, or simply share this post, you are helping us turn compassion into real support for families right here in New Mexico. ❤️

Please consider donating today and sharing this post with your friends and family. Help us finish strong and show these heart families that their community is standing beside them!

Operation Calliope is back for another Run for the 1 in 100 and this year are the heart warrior ambassador family!

We’re the Fishers and we’re honored to share our journey with you!

Our roles as heart parents began before Calliope was born during a typical ultrasound when they noticed that something with her heart looked abnormal. Further testing confirmed that Calliope would be born with a congenital heart defect - likely a coarctation of her aorta which would require surgery and a few weeks in the hospital after birth.

More imaging and tests were done throughout my pregnancy to monitor Calliope, her heart, and her growth. During this monitoring, we received the most difficult news we’ve ever had to face; Calliope’s heart defects were much more severe than we initially thought… What we believed to be a coarctation was actually a complete interruption of her aorta, she also had a ventricular septal defect; both of which would require surgery and a much longer hospital stay estimated at 4-6 months.

Calliope began her journey as a heart warrior in February of 2025. The days, weeks, and months ticked by slowly while we waited for her to be big and strong enough for surgery. During this time, another defect was discovered - it too would require surgery to repair.

At just three months old, Calliope underwent open-heart surgery to repair all of her heart defects. We expected her to come home about 3 weeks later, but other complications would keep her hospitalized an additional three months.

Finally after 175 days (nearly 6 months) in the hospital, Calliope was able to come home! Just over a year later, Calliope is thriving! Babbling, signing, walking, and even running faster than her dad and I can keep up with!

Thank you, Lexiam for helping us during our darkest days and for allowing us to share Calliope’s story!
