Today we celebrate the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the Italian friar who founded the Franciscan Order.

St. Francis had a deep love for the Eucharist, great respect for the priesthood, and a profound appreciation for God’s creation. He reminds us that our faith calls us to be good stewards of the gifts God has entrusted to us.

At the Catholic Foundation, we see stewardship as an opportunity to use our blessings to strengthen our parishes, schools, ministries, and communities for generations to come.

May St. Francis inspire us to live simply, give generously, and leave a lasting legacy rooted in faith.

Today we celebrate the feast of St. Vincent de Paul, whose life reminds us that faith is meant to be lived through service.
Born into a peasant family in France in 1581, Vincent experienced poverty, hardship, and even two years of slavery after being captured by pirates. During his captivity, he prayed that if he were freed, he would dedicate his life to serving the poor.
He kept that promise.
Vincent went on to establish hospitals, orphanages, and homes for those in need. He founded the Vincentians and, with St. Louise de Marillac, co-founded the Daughters of Charity, organizations dedicated to caring for both the spiritual and material needs of others.
More than 150 years after his death, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was founded, continuing his legacy of compassion and service.
