City Council considers zoning changes today!
Albuquerque’s City Council will consider numerous proposed changes to zoning, including the “upzoning” along Major Transit corridors, at its meeting today, Wednesday, February 18. The meeting starts at 5 pm. You can find the agenda here: https://cabq.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx.
The bill number is O-26-2.
Today may be your last chance to influence the City Councilors’ decision on zoning proposals that could have a profound effect on the City of Albuquerque.
If you want to speak at today’s meeting, you must sign up by 4 pm. Here’s the link for signing up: https://www.cabq.gov/council/find-your-councilor/public-comments/public-comment-sign-up-feb-18-2026-council-meeting. You can submit written comments through the ”Contact Your Councilor” link here, https://www.cabq.gov/council/find-your-councilor/contact-all-councilors.
Many of the more controversial proposals in O-26-2, including the corridor upzoning, were amended out, i.e., removed, by the City Council’s Land Use Planning and Zoning Committee. Still, some Councilors are pushing for these to be reconsidered by the full Council.
While NNVNA supports housing variety and “gentle” increases in density, we strongly oppose the corridor upzoning. Feel free to contact us via email at [email protected] for more information.
