🌱 Join us at our special event, Springing Into Slowness: Gathering to Honor Earth and Each Other on Saturday, May 30, 9:00am to 12:00pm at Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque.

In times that move so fast and demand so much of our attention, join us as we gather in a spirit of encouraging slowness and connection with each other and this sacred Earth. Our time together will include: song, prayer, dance, foraging, creating healing seed salvos, and a community potluck!

Arrive at Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church at 8:45am and walk with us to Los Poblanos Open Fields for a ritual followed by a potluck meal. Bring a hat, sunscreen, a water bottle and be prepared to do a little bit of walking as Rev. Ryan Tate leads us in foraging.

☀️ What if your sanctuary was powered by the same sun that rises over the Sandia Mountains every morning? More New Mexico faith communities are making it happen.

In the Atharva Veda, the Earth is called our mother: ‘What of thee I dig out, let that quickly grow over.’ Ancient wisdom for a modern crisis. What are we digging out of New Mexico’s land — and what are we leaving behind?

🛢️ When our legislators vote on oil and gas regulations, they are making moral choices — about whose health matters, whose water matters, whose future matters. We will keep reminding them of that.

Imagine if every faith community in New Mexico powered their building with the sun. Lower bills. Cleaner air. A witness to the congregation and the neighborhood that another way is possible. That’s Project HOW. Is your community ready?

The concept of Bal Tashchit — do not destroy — is one of Judaism’s oldest environmental teachings. Wasting or destroying what God has created is not just wasteful. It is a moral failing.
