SCCM has various awards available to reward outstanding work in critical care. Because of the wonderful work done by nurses, we want to be sure that the nursing discipline is represented well through the nomination process.

Please take a moment to view the list of awards through the following SCCM link: http://www.sccm.org/Member-Center/Awards/Pages/default.aspx. You can also go to the member center on the SCCM website and click on the "awards" link. Each award link has a description of the award and the qualifications for nomination. While viewing the awards, please pay attention to the Norma J. Shoemaker Award for Critical Care Nursing Excellence, an award specifically for nurses. Please take the time to nominate someone you feel meets the criteria for any of the listed awards. The deadline for many of these awards is August 1. The deadlines are also listed for each award.

This conference will discuss diagnosis and management of the Hanta patient, tests and procedures needed as well as stabilization of the patient. It will also include a discussion on cannulation, putting the Hanta patient on ECMO and management and transport of the ECMO patient.
