We interpret everything through the entirety of our lived experience. This “lens” affects our perception and interpretation of all that we experience, including how we read and understand sacred scripture. When we look at the Bible through “q***r”, “different”, LGBTQIA, eyes very different interpretations emerge. LGBTQ people have been vilified, oppressed, killed and discriminated against for thousands of years based on certain passages from the Bible. When these 6 passages are looked at from a different perspective, a q***r perspective, very different understandings emerge.

We invite you to Join us on Sunday, February 8th for an incredible milestone in MCC Albuquerque’s 50-year history when we celebrate paying off and burning our mortgage!

Last September we commemorated 50 years of service to our community and started our “50 for 50 Capital Campaign”: seeking 50 people to donate $1000 to lay the foundation for our next 50 years. Our first Goal was to get 1\2 way there and pay of our mortgage, and WE DID IT.

From humble beginnings to this moment of financial freedom, we have journeyed together, supporting one another, growing in spirit, and building a welcoming space for all. The burning of the mortgage isn’t just about paperwork; it’s about the dreams we’ve realized and the new possibilities ahead.

Thank you to all who helped us get here and we hope you will join us on February 8th
