📚Families learning together at Hawthorne Elementary!

Hawthorne Elementary recently kicked off its first Family Engagement Night of the school year with a Welcome Back celebration!

Families had the opportunity to participate in educational activities alongside their children while getting a closer look at some of the learning and experiences students enjoy as part of their daily RGEC program. ✏️

These special evenings are about more than activities; they’re an opportunity to bring families, students, and staff together and strengthen the connections that help our students thrive.

🪇 Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at La Promesa Elementary!

Students and families recently came together for La Promesa Elementary School’s Hispanic Heritage Family Engagement Night, celebrating culture, traditions, and history through fun, hands-on activities.

From creating colorful maracas and sombreros to learning more about Hispanic heritage, the evening was filled with creativity, connection, and opportunities for families to learn and celebrate together. We love seeing our RGEC communities create meaningful experiences that bring students and families together while celebrating the cultures and traditions that make our communities so special.

Don't wait until your Child Care Assistance contract expires! / ¡No espere hasta que venza su contrato de Asistencia de Cuidado Infantil!

ECECD Child Care Assistance contracts have an expiration date. To help avoid a gap in your child's care, families should begin the renewal process at least one month before their current contract expires. For your renewal, ECECD requires a new application and current proof of income. Although Universal Child Care does not have income limits, current income documentation is still required as part of ECECD's renewal process.

📌 Remember: Renewal applications and income documentation are submitted to ECECD, not RGEC. And we know the acronyms can be confusing! Here's an easy way to remember the difference:
🏛️ ECECD is the State agency that determines eligibility, processes applications and renewals, and issues your Child Care Assistance contract.
💚 RGEC is your child care provider, providing your child's day-to-day program and care.

Learning beyond the classroom!

Another highlight from our RGEC summer programs was a field trip to the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science, where students from several of our programs had the opportunity to explore, learn, and experience science and New Mexico’s natural history in a whole new way. From discovering something new to simply enjoying the day with friends, experiences like these help make summer programming both educational and fun. 💚

Opening a new program takes a team, and we’re grateful for the hard work, energy, and dedication our RGEC staff brings to creating welcoming and supportive spaces for our students and families. 🎉 Thank you to our team for helping us get ready for opening day yesterday! 🎒 New school year, new RGEC registration! / ¡Nuevo año escolar, nueva inscripción en RGEC!

Even if your child attended RGEC last school year or participated in our summer program, families must complete a new registration through EZChildTrack (EZCT) for the new school year. Registrations do not automatically carry over from previous programs or sessions.

Before registering, please make sure any past-due fees on your account have been paid in full, as outstanding balances must be resolved before registration for a new program can be completed.

We’re excited to welcome students and families to our newest RGEC program at Pajarito Mesa, that started TODAY, September 14, 2026! Our team has been busy getting the space ready, and we can’t wait to open the doors and begin serving families in the community. 💙
