Albuquerque Metro Rotary Club

Albuquerque Metro Rotary Club Albuquerque Metro Rotary Club Our Club was founded under the principal of being a non traditional club with a focus on hands on projects.

As our first club president stated, ours is a club whose members put their hands into gloves, not just into their wallets. Since our inception, we have performed events like cleaning a veterans home, taking several Joy Junction children to an Albuquerque Isotopes Minor League baseball game, our first ever car show to raise funds for Paws & Stripes, and raised money and collected toys for the Atri

sco Elementary School kids to provide one of the more fiscally challenged schools a moment of Christmas cheer. This site will provide an historical record of all of the club's events. Check back often and maybe you can become part of something wonderful.

Sean Kassebaum, an Air Force veteran and Board member of the Honor Flight of Northern New Mexico came to speak to our Club tonight. Honor Flights of Northern NM is a volunteer organization who seeks Guardians and organizes travel for veterans from WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Their mission is to transport New Mexico's veterans to Washington D.C. to reflect upon the memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices.

Their next flight arrives in Albuquerque Friday, June 5th at 5:30pm. They hope to have as many people as they can there at the airport to welcome them home.

Yesterday a few of us decorated the Fisher House inside and out for Memorial Day. The decorations will remain up through the 4th of July. It is always an honor to support the Fisher House.

It is a wonderful place where families may stay when their loved one is receiving care at the VA Hospital. It is a home away from home.

Our Club supports the Fisher House mission by decorating, providing treats to eat, stationary for letter writing, crafts to occupy time, or gift cards for purchasing everyday toiletries or other essentials. Whatever they ask for, we are happy to be able to provide. ❤️🇺🇸🤗

We are a hands on activity club focusing our support for veterans and children in our community. Here are a few things our club did in April.

Club members donated items for the 3rd annual VA Hospital Hospice Memorial Program. We helped decorate and fill in where needed before, during, and after the ceremony. It was a beautiful and solemn ceremony to honor the 76 veterans we lost this past year.

Club members purchased and delivered gift cards to support the Fisher House and its support of veterans and families while staying at the VA Hospital. The gift cards will go for meals and hospitality items needed by the families.

Club members purchased food and cooked a meal at the Ronald McDonald House for families staying there while their children receive treatment at UNM Hospital.

Come lend a hand for what we will do in May!!

Pints for Polio at Santa Fe Brewing Green Jeans location on 5/7 at 5:30 followed by a talk on Polio at Nerd Night at 7:00pm and a Bosque cleanup near Bike in Coffee on 5/16 from 9-11am.
