Loren Kahn Puppet & Object Theatre

Using puppets and/or object theatre as a bridge between theatre, visual art and puppetry, we offer performances and workshops for toddlers through adults locally, nationally, and internationally. Loren Kahn Puppet and Object Theater present their shows in versatile settings—like the back of a bike, or a stage that the puppeteer wears! We'll help you plan the perfect show or class for your organiza

tion, whether it's a theatre, school, library, hospital, community center, day care center, and or just about anything else you might come up with.

Workshops in 2017!
We had a lot of fun responding to a request, from Janet Kahn School of Integrated Arts, for a workshop on the subject of "Characters." We brainstormed our way to currently offering 3-4 sessions exploring the subject of how we express character through body language, how we read and perhaps misread character signs in others, how we can distinguish between characters real and fictive, and more. What is a stereotype, a caricature, a cliche? What are the differences between to pretend, to lie and to act? To be obliged to rethink the obvious about definitions of character is extremely rewarding.

Workshop involves object theatre, drama, rhythm, visual art and puppet theatre.

Costs: $150/session, three-four sessions recommended for one class, duration of each session 60-75 minutes, two animators.
