The Cennea Thorla Guidry Scholarship Foundation

It is with deep gratitude and fulfillment that we announce the official dissolution of The Cennea Thorla Guidry Scholarship Foundation. Established in January 2023, the foundation was created to honor Cennea Thorla Guidry, who was murdered while leaving an abusive marriage. Through this foundation, her legacy became one of hope, empowerment, and change.

As of her birthday on October 29th, The Cennea Thorla Guidry Scholarship Foundation has awarded nearly $30,000 in scholarships to support domestic abuse survivors across Central New Mexico, helping them build economic autonomy through education and career development.

We are deeply humbled by the generosity of our community. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this mission, helping transform Cennea’s story from tragedy into a force of compassion and opportunity that will be felt for generations.

Although we are concluding this chapter, the need for support continues. We encourage you to honor Cennea’s legacy by supporting organizations like the DVRC NM in Albuquerque and Valencia Shelter Services in Los Lunas, who provide critical resources for survivors. 💜
