Please join Meredith and New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez for a town hall on child wellbeing TOMORROW, October 13th at 5:30 P.M. at the Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center (501 Elizabeth St SE, Albuquerque, NM 87123).

Meredith has spent her time in the Legislature working to make New Mexico a safer place for kids and families, from stronger public safety measures to reforms at CYFD. Now she's bringing AG Torrez and local experts to District 20 to talk about the challenges our kids are facing and what we're doing to help.

Foothills CPA Assessment Kick-Off is this Wednesday!
The City of Albuquerque’s Long Range Planning Team is kicking off the Foothills Community Planning Area (CPA) Assessment!

📅 Wednesday, September 16, 2026 from 5 pm to 7 pm

📍 Holiday Park Community Center, 11710 Comanche Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111

👋 Free and open to all ages!

Join us for a free community dinner with a short presentation, activities, and an opportunity to learn more about the assessment. The event is free and open to all ages!

CPA Assessments are year-long planning efforts that help identify community strengths, challenges, opportunities, and priorities. Through community input, data analysis, and collaboration with City departments and partner agencies, the assessment will help inform future planning, investments, projects, and programs. The CPA will not change zoning or adopt new regulations.

There will be many opportunities to participate throughout the assessment, including community meetings, open houses, surveys, pop-up events, and other outreach activities.

Before the kick-off, visit the Foothills CPA website, or click the survey links below, to share what you value about your community and what you would like to see improved. We’ll continue sharing updates and opportunities to get involved through this newsletter.

Not to be confused with our neighborhood night out which will be in September, this is National Night Out.

Deadline to Register For National Night Out This Thursday
If your neighborhood is hosting an event for National Night Out (NNO), which is coming up Tuesday, August 4, please remember to register it on the City's NNO website no later than Thursday, July 30 at 5:00 p.m. National Night Out is an annual event that brings together our community as a way of decreasing crime and is celebrated with block parties, barbecues, cookouts, and park events. Juneteenth City Closures
Juneteenth will be observed on Friday, June 19 and several City services and offices will be closed. However, there will be regular trash and recycle pickup, and regular bus and Sun Van services. For a complete listing of available services on that day, visit:

For anyone who wants to have the city come out & spray your street sewer manholes for cockroaches, here's the link:

Scroll down just a bit, then fill in the form & submit. It'll take a while for them to come out, but they will do it & leave a notice on your door that they came by. I think the last time I did it, it took about a month for them to come around, but they did come out & spray.

The Water Authority engages in an ongoing effort to prevent cockroaches in its network of sanitary sewer manholes.
