June 12, 2026 we were honored to be invited to an update announcement regarding the homicide of Adrian Maestas. Our Heavenly Father blessed us with a spectacular sunset in the color of Gun Violence Awareness .
I do not take credit for these pictures. These were shared across social media today, I have never seen so many people be so in awe of our sunsets as the one last night.

When people think of gun violence victims, they often think of photographs, news articles, and memorial pages. But not every victim has a photograph that survived. Some of these lives were taken decades ago. Some families lost photos over time. Some records no longer exist. Some stories were never told. Yet every one of these individuals mattered. They laughed. They loved. They had families, friends, dreams, and futures that were taken from them far too soon.

Today, we honor the victims whose faces we may never see, but whose names deserve to be spoken. A missing photograph does not erase a life. A missing photograph does not erase a family’s pain. A missing photograph does not erase their place in our community’s history.

Today, we remember them. Today, we honor them. Today, we say their names.

Gone Too Soon. Never Forgotten.

💜 Remember. Honor. Heal. 🧡

Man Sentenced to Life Plus 24 Years for Fatal Robbery of 75-Year-Old Albuquerque Resident
An Albuquerque man has been sentenced to life in prison plus 24 years for the 2024 fatal armed robbery of a 75-year-old resident.
On Tuesday, a judge sentenced James Caleb Gonzales after a jury convicted him in November of first-degree felony murder, armed robbery, and related offenses in the death of Harry Velarde.
Gonzales went to Velarde’s apartment in the 1000 block of Valencia Drive SE with the intent to rob him. During the robbery, Gonzales shot and killed Velarde.
Following the shooting, Gonzales fled Albuquerque but was later arrested at Villanueva State Park.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Ashlee Mills and Christine Jablonsky.
