City Council votes tonight on the Safe Outdoor Spaces legislations! Please help make others aware that Albuquerque has never had housing or transitional living devoted or prioritizing those who experience s*x trafficking or exploitation! We are not a city with a lot of money, and we need to be pulling together to find solutions. People who experienced s*x trafficking have PTSD rates of 68%, similar to combat veterans (Ramsey et al., 1993), yet those who are unhoused are treated the same as any other unhoused person in Albuquerque. We as a community need to show leadership in creating solutions, rather than always thinking it is someone else's problem to solve, even if we must do so on a much smaller budget than other large cities.
