π‘π LUCKY IS HOME! ππ‘
We're so happy to share that Lucky has been discharged and is officially home with his foster! His surgery went well. His leg was repaired with plates and screws, and he's now resting, healing, and being the same sweet, easygoing boy he's been since day one. π₯Ή
Quick recap: Lucky was hit by a car in Las Cruces and was facing a 4:30pm deadline at the shelter. At 4:27pm, with a committed foster in place (who's also interested in adopting!), we pulled him. As a small rescue focused mainly on shot clinics, we don't take on cases like this lightly, and we stepped in only because we had a safe landing spot and a plan for his care.
Where things stand:
π©Ί Surgery complete with plates and screws
π‘ Discharged and recovering at home
π΅ His surgery, hospital stay, and aftercare total $2,500
π RAISED: $1100 / $2,500
Lucky's care has been fully covered, and the rescue made sure of that. We still need the community's help to close the gap, though, because every dollar raised for Lucky keeps our general funds dedicated to what we do every week: low-cost shot clinics and keeping community pets healthy.
Because Facebook fundraisers take about 15 days to release funds, we're asking that donations go through PayPal:

π Huge thank yous to Las Cruces shelter for giving Lucky a chance, to our amazing transporters Jeannine and Ivory, and to East Mountain Vet for taking him on a Sunday and getting him through surgery. And to everyone who has donated, ordered a pie, or shared: thank you. You made this happen.
Lucky's got a long, happy life ahead of him. Let's help him finish strong! πΎπ
Pics include the X-rays of his leg now corrected, the handsome lad himself, last page of the invoice (or whatever would fit in a screenshot), and the pies I made yesterday and had happy customers!
