Every Native scholar deserves access to higher education.

At the 2026 SWAIA Santa Fe Indian Market Native Forward alumna Avis Charley gifted Native Forward this beautiful piece of artwork.

The prompt asks, “What hill are you willing to die on?” For us, the answer is clear: Every Native scholar deserves access to higher education. We are so grateful to you Avis Charley for this wonderful gift and for continuing to be part of the Native Forward family. ❤️

Native Forward at the 2026 SWAIA - Santa Fe Indian Market!

Native Forward CEO Angelique Albert joined Gimiwan Dustin Burnette of Midwest Indigenous Immersion Network and Tashina Banks Rama of Maȟpíya Lúta for the Betterway Foundation’s panel, “The Education Arc: From Early Childhood Education to Higher Education.” The conversation focused on how sustained investment, shared learning, and Indigenous leadership can strengthen Native-led education and create lasting impact in Native communities.

The week also featured a conversation on the Land Back movement, hosted by Native Forward Board Member Rohit Menezes through the BridgeSpan podcast. Rohit was joined by Dallas Goldtooth, Jodi Archambault, and Alvin Warren to discuss the movement, its significance, and the continued importance of Native leadership in conversations about sovereignty.

We are grateful to the partners and leaders who continue to advance meaningful collaboration and greater opportunity across Indian Country.
