We are proud to see Native Forward Scholars Fund CEO Angelique Albert helping lead important conversations about the future of philanthropy!

Angelique took the stage at Independent Sector’s National Summit for the panel discussion, “Unrestricted Gifts Are the Future of Philanthropy,” alongside panelist Fidel V. Vargas (HSF) and moderator Connie Mathiessen of Inside Philanthropy.

The conversation highlighted the importance of trust in philanthropy and the meaningful impact that comes when donors give organizations the flexibility to respond to the needs of the communities they serve.

Angelique continues to bring Native Forward’s voice and perspective to national conversations, advocating for approaches to philanthropy that strengthen organizations, empower communities, and create lasting opportunities for future generations.

Thank you to Independent Sector for creating space for these important conversations!

Today, we honor Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We remember the Native children who were taken from their families and communities, those who never returned home, and the survivors whose strength continues to shape generations.

Every Child Matters.

At Native Forward, we believe education can be a powerful pathway toward healing, opportunity, and strengthening Tribal communities. Today and every day, we honor the resilience of Native people and remain committed to advancing a future where Native students are supported, celebrated, and empowered to thrive.

Proud to share a new Chronicle of Philanthropy op-ed from Native Forward Board Member Michael D. Smith, offering an important perspective on how philanthropy can better support boys and men with sustained, community-centered investment.

Michael D. Smith on why philanthropy's last push for boys and men of color fell short — and how funders can avoid repeating those mistakes.
