Next week, on Tuesday October 20, we're thrilled to welcome department alum Dr. Richard Goldfarb ('75) back to campus for the first time since he graduated! Dr. Goldfarb is a world-renowned expert on gold; including how gold deposits form, and how the geology impacts the economics of gold. During his visit, he'll be giving a talk about gold, how it forms, and why it forms where it does. The talk will be from 12-12:50 in the Gardner Lecture Hall in the Dana Engineering Building.

During his career after Bucknell, Dr. Goldfarb earned a Master’s and a PhD from the University of Nevada Reno, and the University of Colorado, respectively. After that, he worked for the U.S. Geological Survey for 35 years, publishing more than 250 research papers, and spending 35 field seasons in Alaska. These days, he's a Research Professor at the Colorado School of Mines and the Chine University of Geosciences in Beijing.
