A colorful new addition made its way onto the fairgrounds during this year’s Orleans County 4-H Fair!

Artist Jaylah Sherman, who also painted our Little Free Library in June, was originally scheduled to begin refreshing the historic giant apple pie tin during fair week. After assessing the project, we determined that additional equipment would be needed to complete the work safely.

The pie tin refresh is still planned and will move forward once the proper equipment is in place. Follow this page or GO ART! for updates as the project gets underway!

In the meantime, Jaylah brought their talents to the back of the Lartz Commercial Exhibit Building and created this beautiful barn quilt mural!

We love seeing Jaylah’s artwork continue to brighten the fairgrounds. Now visitors have another colorful piece to enjoy, with even more to look forward to when the giant pie tin receives its new look!

Update: all gone for now.

We think it's the schedule swap, but we have a bunch of plums, grapes, lettuce, and eggs still available at the fairgrounds as part of the monthly Foodlink program.

We'll be here until 4. And will update the post as things run out.

Beyond the Show Ring 💚

Some of the most meaningful moments at the Orleans County 4-H Fair don’t happen in the show ring.

By Saturday afternoon, the shows were done, the animals were cared for, and after a long week of hard work, there was finally a little time to just have fun. And apparently, that meant a spontaneous sword fight with friends.

4-H is about learning responsibility, building skills, and working hard toward a goal. But it’s also about the friendships built along the way. It’s spending long days together, cheering each other on, laughing until your stomach hurts, and making the kind of memories that stick around long after the ribbons have faded.

The shows may be a big part of what brings our 4-Hers to the fair, but moments like this are a big part of what makes fair so special.

Because sometimes the best thing you take home from fair isn’t a ribbon. It’s the memories and the people you shared them with. 🍀💚

The fair may have wrapped up last Saturday, but we’re still smiling about moments like this. 🛁🐔

After a week of early mornings, late nights, endless grooming, and showmanship, this little champion was more than ready for some well deserved R&R.

Thank you to everyone who made the 2026 Orleans County 4-H Fair such a memorable week. Whether you exhibited, volunteered, sponsored, or came out to support our youth, we appreciate you.

And don’t put those calendars away just yet! 🗓️ The 2027 Orleans County 4-H Fair will be July 26 through 31, 2027. We’ll see you next summer… after everyone gets a little more rest. 🐓💙
