That’s a wrap. Code Blue season has officially ended, and what a season it was.
First, we want to thank our incredible community, our agency partners, and our host churches for opening your doors and your hearts to serve others. Because of you, in Albion alone, we were able to serve over 575 individuals. That number speaks volumes, it shows there is still a great need, and together, we stepped up to meet it.
Even though we opened later in Batavia and Perry this season, we’re already planning ahead and are committed to opening earlier next year so we can support our communities throughout the entire winter.
To everyone who showed up, whether you volunteered your time, delivered donations, answered a late-night call, or helped a client in need, thank you. Your compassion and willingness to act made all the difference.
A special and heartfelt thank you goes to our daytime warming centers, especially the Hoag Library. Their staff showed up every single day, caring for clients, advocating for the unhoused, and handling situations well beyond what is expected of them. Their dedication did not go unnoticed, and we are deeply grateful.
We also want to extend a huge thank you to the Albion Police Department for always showing up in times of need, protecting our staff, assisting clients in crisis, and doing what you do best to keep our community safe. Your presence and partnership made a real difference this season.
Now, our staff and team leads will take a well-deserved break before we begin planning for next season.
From all of us, thank you. You are what community love truly looks like.
