One of Dolly’s greatest gifts was her belief that every child deserves the opportunity to fall in love with reading. Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, millions of children have received free books delivered right to their homes.

One rewarding aspect of our work at the Albion Community Foundation is seeing the grant funds in action! 📣

The City of Albion Recreation Department was a recipient of our 2026 Specialty GAP Funding. This grant round was advised by the students of YAC (Youth Advisory Committee) through interactive presentations from various community organizations including the Recreation Department.

This funding supports the Summer Enrichment Program that provided Albion students an interactive, explorative, educational summer program!

Sparking change in the community takes time, money, and expertise. In the fall 2025, the William and Karen Dobbins Family Foundation gifted the Albion Community Foundation $100,000 to hire a professional grant writer for two years to strengthen the community’s ability to attract resources for downtown development, recreation, entrepreneurship, and other key initiatives designed to Build a Better Albion.

Cue Margaux Dever.

Dever has been working hard for the Albion community as the Grant Development Specialist and, in just under a year, has secured over $1.2M in grants for Albion.
