Women's Walk Across America

Women's Walk Across America We are the Women's Walk Across America. A relay-style walk of protest and empowerment from Salem, Oregon to Washington D.C., timed to the 2026 midterms.

We walk because we refuse to behave as if any of this is normal. https://womenswalkacrossamerica.com

The Women's Walk Across America headed out of Idaho on what we thought at the time, were pretty desolate roads. It got warmer, drier and more open geography. But it was also exciting to hit the 3rd state!!
Being with my daughter, seeing her accomplish this vision step by step, honing the message, gaining supporters and followers, overcoming so many challenges, working behind the scenes after a long day of walking, has been such an honor.
So despite it all, we keep walking...because it matters.

As we make our way east, one of our favorite experiences is the walking into and/or staying in, darling small towns. Albion, Idaho caught our attention and won a piece of our hearts. Something is in the water...its got a vibe for sure! The people were so kind, interested in what brought us to their little corner and in the case with Ryan from LemonMe Albion, a desire to share our adventure with his followers 💛
We stayed at Marsh Creek Inn which was cozy and cute and was a soft place to land at the end of 2 very long and dusty days. We ate at Diamond Field Jack's, enjoying yummy food, friendly service, great conversation about our journey and then popping over to Albion Mercantile and Ice Cream Shop for delectable homemade ice cream for dessert.
Piggy Sue's caught our attention with mouthwatering smoker scents the first day but we had to wait til the next day to enjoy it. LemonMe pulled us in several times as we went for breakfast burritos and pancakes and then again for soup that night. We also went back the second morning for another round of burritos and pancakes because they were just THAT GOOD!! 😋
On top of all of this, the surrounding countryside was beautiful and peaceful. We couldn't have wished for a better experience so thank you Albion for taking such good care of us 🥰

A recap of the past several days here in Idaho...(its easy to lose count)
The weather has been good for walking - a tad chilly in the morning, not too hot in the afternoon, breezy - but just enough.
The roads have been kind, drivers observant with friendly waves.
We stayed 2 nights with a lovely couple, Michael and Audra who treated us and fed us so well and let us feel so at home.
The next night we camped on what turned out to be a frigid and long night 🥶 Thank goodness showers at Valley of Trees Resort where we camped were toasty rooms and hot water 🥰
As has been and continues to encourage us and fill our cups, are the amazing people we have met along the way. When they learn of what we are doing, there is always positive exclamations and well wishes for a safe journey.
When we feel saddened by events of the day, this is what keeps us going...meeting the good, kind, hardworking people of this country. 🇺🇸

Want to be part of this audacious walk? We are always excited to have walkers join us and even if you aren't in a position to do that, can you volunteer to help with the back end "stuff" that is always necessary with this kind of undertaking? It truly takes a community, a village.
We would love you to be part of ours 💪❤️

First day back on the walk! Susan did a fabulous job while on the road, surviving some intense heat and still making great progress 🥵
Then through connections, a wonderful group joined in Twin Falls to walk with us in the morning - we had some that met us on route, walked , and provided yummy goodies, and then others provided all of us with a hearty and delicious lunch in the park. We also had another reporter join us so watch for that!
😍 Thank you to all our new friends for your support, encouragement, hugs, and kindness. It always make us so very grateful ♥️

Susan took the baton once again from Emily and is carrying the walk towards Twin Falls. She's been joined by a couple companions and braving the heat while following the Oregon Trail. Way to go walkers!! 🥰
