Just $25 per person. All proceeds going to construction of the park.

Agritourism is an opportunity I think our community could capitalize on. Since we do not have much for water recreation, getting creative by offering experiences would attract more folks to town. I thought this was a fun article to show that people are interested in these types of experiences.

The messages keep flooding in! Got a business idea? Starting a business can feel overwhelming, so here's a simple path to get you from idea to open doors ⬇️

Step 1: Put your idea on paper.
Start a business plan. It doesn't have to be perfect yet. It's a tool to help you think through your costs, customers, and goals.

Step 2: Meet with Benjamin Benton, Nebraska Business Development Center.
Benjamin is a wealth of knowledge! He'll help you build out your business plan and connect you with resources, including gap financing if you need it. He keeps office hours at the BCDA office in Albion, so you can meet in person when he's in town or connect virtually.

Step 3: Do your homework locally.
Gather data on what your future customers want. Local surveys are a great way to test your idea and show lenders there's real demand.

Step 4: Talk to your banker.
Bring your plan and start the conversation about financing early.

Step 5: Sit down with AEDC and BCDA.
Both organizations offer gap financing through an application process, plus grant programs to help with start-up costs. We'll walk you through what you may qualify for.

A quick reminder of AEDC’s role in Albion…

We want to take a moment to clarify the role of the Albion Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) and how we can best serve our community.

AEDC is not the City of Albion. We do not oversee city streets, roads, railroad crossings, infrastructure maintenance, ordinances, or other municipal operations. While we understand that community members have concerns about these issues, they fall outside of AEDC’s authority and responsibilities.

If you have a concern involving city operations, we encourage you to contact the City of Albion directly. If the issue requires further attention, you can explore the appropriate formal complaint process. City Council meetings are also held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, providing an opportunity to bring concerns forward through the appropriate channels.

AEDC’s mission is to support economic development, attract investment, and connect people with the positive things happening in Albion. Our social media platforms are intended to share community updates, promote local businesses and events, and highlight opportunities that help our town grow.

While we welcome constructive conversation and community involvement, our social media page is not a public complaint forum for issues outside our organization’s control. Having an active social media presence does not make AEDC responsible for every concern in town, nor does it make our page the appropriate place to direct frustration toward issues we have no authority to address.

We care about Albion and want to see our community thrive. Part of that means making sure questions, concerns, and feedback reach the people and organizations best equipped to address them.

If you were going to plan a neighborhood block party, what are some items that would be helpful to have for your party?

Help me brainstorm ideas of what could be included in a “kit” available for rent. Keep in mind there’s a small budget haha, but we did receive a small grant! I included ideas in the grant submission, but I want to hear from the community on what items would be helpful!

There was a great turn out for the Garden Class hosted by Central Community College & the Albion Chamber. CCC Ag Instructor, Wade Hilker was a joy to learn from! Today’s class was held at The Manchester Drinkery downtown Albion and pizza brought in from Hwy 14 Brewing Co. 😍
