We’ve been a little quiet here lately.

The last several weeks have been heavy in ways I don’t really have words for yet. We’ve experienced a lot of challenges and several heartbreaking losses behind the scenes — and I’m just not ready to share all of it yet.

I’ve needed some time away from social media to just… be present here and process things.

But in the middle of all of it, there are still moments like this — simple joy, chaos, and love. Sometimes the soft moments help carry us through the hard ones. 🐷🫧

I don’t want us to disappear, but we have needed some time.

Look at Maple and her baby girls enjoying a beautiful evening by the pond! 🥹 She is such a good mama.

Everyone else has already tucked themselves in for the night, but Maple has other plans... she’s making sure Poppy and Pepper are fully worn out before she shuffles them off to bed. 😂 Toddler moms understand. And of course, Gandalf is right there (in the corner) keeping watch over his girls from the “front porch” of the stables. He's the proudest little step daddy ever. 🐷❤️🐔

The funniest thing has been happening lately… Maple and Gandy have apparently decided they’re in their “house hunting era” and for the past week, they’ve been shopping around. The entire famy has been trying out different stables and little houses like they’re looking for their forever home.😆 🏡They haven't slept in Med-Bay for a week! 😲

So far, they’ve tested out three new spots, just casually moving in and out once they don't like the neighbors or the morning light - but I’m still holding out hope they make their way back to the vacant "Elmoine Love Cottage" 🥹😩 but so far, they haven’t ventured that far!

Also - quick life update. I’m sorry for the lack of posts lately. I’ve been sick for over a week, and unfortunately passed it along to Declan too. Things never slow down here, and it’s been a really full (and emotionally heavy) couple of weeks behind the scenes.
We’ll be back to posting tomorrow with lots of updates to share. Thank you so much to everyone who checked in on us - it truly means more than you know! ❤️ Erika

A few weeks ago, little Turner was found on the side of the road after a transport truck’s back door latch malfunctioned on Highway 210. Almost a dozen tiny piglets were found… some died on impact, some were hit by cars, and some were taken by people who pulled over… but only one made his way to sanctuary.

We are so grateful that little Turner found his way to us, and he should be heading to his new home Changing Hearts Farm Sanctuary in the next few days! 🙏

None of this happens without the people who stand behind us and Sisu. The ones who donate, share, comment, send kind messages, and believe in this work even when it feels overwhelming. Because of you, we get to show up in moments like this. Because of you, Turner didn’t just survive - he got a second chance!
