Phenomenal job by the Westchester County Police Department, in Region 14, welcoming home the NBA Champion New York Knicks earlier today. When we look to inspire our younger generations, we should look to our commonalities to pull us together, like sports teams.

For the “old timers” that are a part of our organization waiting to see this team pull it out, many lessons were learned watching them play, lessons we can use to inspire our youth…

Work hard. Believe in yourself. Learn from failure. Develop resilience. Build others up around you. Most importantly, write your own story and never allow others to define your potential.

Congratulations to the New York Knicks. As fans, we are grateful for the championship. As law enforcement professionals, we are equally grateful for the reminder that character, sacrifice, resilience, and teamwork remain foundations of success, both personally and professionally.
