The success of this year’s conference was truly remarkable. The attendance, quality of training, professional networking, and commitment shown by everyone in attendance exceeded our expectations.

That success did not happen overnight. It is the result of 51 years of dedication, sacrifice, leadership, and service to law enforcement, our youth, and the communities we proudly serve.

We were especially honored to have so many former presidents join us for this year’s awards banquet. Their leadership and commitment helped shape this association into what it is today, and we are deeply grateful for the foundation they built and the example they continue to provide.

Members may come, go, retire, or move on, but the mission remains constant: to better prepare law-enforcement professionals to serve, mentor, and build meaningful relationships with our youth and communities.

We are grateful to every person who has contributed to this mission over the past 51 years. Their dedication has created a legacy that we are proud to carry forward.

There is still work to be done and much more to accomplish, but none of it would be possible without those who came before us, those serving today, and those willing to carry this mission into the future.

Thank you for 51 years of service, commitment, and partnership. Time to look ahead and prepare, as the best is yet to come.

As we bring our 2026 Annual Conference in Penn Yan to a close, we want to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped make this week such a success.

To all of our attendees, thank you for your commitment to continued training, professional development, and serving the youth and communities across New York State. We hope you leave with new knowledge, valuable connections, and tools you can bring back to your departments and put into practice.

A special thank you to the hotel staff and the Penn Yan community for your incredible hospitality and warm welcome throughout the week. Your support helped create an outstanding environment for learning, networking, and fellowship.

While 2026 may be coming to an end, the work continues. We are already planning for 2027!

We hope to see you all again at our 2027 Annual Conference in Syracuse, NY, August 16–20, 2027!

As we conclude our fourth day of training, we are filled with gratitude and pride for everything this conference and this organization represents.

Following another outstanding day of professional development, the Executive Board gathered for our annual Summer Conference Meeting. Members were appointed to new leadership positions and elected to serve as regional representatives, accepting the responsibility of continuing to strengthen our organization and advance its mission across New York State.

As we prepare for our annual Awards Banquet, we reflect on an incredible week of learning, networking, and professional growth. Law-enforcement professionals from across the state have come together to share knowledge, experiences, and resources while gaining valuable tools to better serve the youth and communities entrusted to their care.

The work of juvenile officers, school resource officers, youth officers, and other law-enforcement professionals is incredibly important. Working with young people requires patience, compassion, communication, understanding, and a commitment to continual learning. This conference provides officers with opportunities to strengthen those skills and develop meaningful partnerships that can make a lasting difference.

For 51 years, this organization has proudly remained committed to providing high-quality training and professional development to the dedicated men and women who work with youth throughout New York State.

We are grateful to every instructor who shares their knowledge, every officer who invests their time in becoming better at what they do, every agency that supports professional development, and every member who contributes to our continued success.

Most importantly, we are thankful for the officers who show up every day with a commitment to making a difference in the lives of young people and the communities they serve.

As Day Two of our conference comes to a close, we want to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to everyone who has made this week so meaningful.

It has been incredible to witness the professional networking, conversations, and knowledge being shared among so many dedicated law-enforcement professionals who have committed themselves to serving youth, schools, families, and communities.

The passion and energy in the room are a powerful reminder of the important work being done every day by School Resource Officers, Juvenile Officers, and other law-enforcement professionals who recognize that effective policing is about more than enforcement; it is about building relationships, earning trust, creating partnerships, and positively influencing the next generation.

We are truly grateful to have so many professionals gathered here in this beautiful setting, taking time away from their agencies and communities to learn, share experiences, strengthen relationships, and bring new ideas back home.

Thank you for your commitment, your professionalism, and your willingness to continue growing together. The work you do matters, and the impact you have on our youth and communities reaches far beyond the classroom.

Our 51st Summer Training Conference is officially underway, and we could not be more grateful to welcome 200+ law-enforcement professionals from across New York State.

For the past 51 years, our organization has remained committed to providing premier training and professional development to, with a special emphasis on the important work of law-enforcement professionals who interact with youth, schools, and their communities.

Continual training is one of the most important responsibilities we have as professionals. The communities we serve continue to evolve, and our knowledge, skills, and approaches must evolve with them. Training gives us the opportunity to learn from one another, challenge ourselves, share experiences, and return to our agencies better prepared to serve.

This conference is about more than classroom learning. It is about building partnerships, establishing mentorships, sharing ideas, and creating relationships that extend beyond this week. When law-enforcement come together, we have an opportunity to learn not only from our instructors, but from the experiences and perspectives of the colleagues sitting beside us.

We were honored to begin the conference with welcoming remarks from our Executive Board, along with remarks from the Sheriff of the Yates County Sheriff's Office. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Yates County Sheriff Office for providing the Color Guard for our opening ceremonies.

For 51 years, this association has been fortunate to bring dedicated professionals together with one common goal: to better serve the young people and communities who depend on us.

We hope everyone takes full advantage of everything this week has to offer: learn, ask questions, share experiences, build relationships, establish mentorships, and make connections.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this conference, participated in its planning, traveled to be here, and continues to believe in the importance of professional development and collaboration.

Tomorrow, We Begin!

Tomorrow marks the start of our 51st summer training conference, and with it comes an opportunity that we are truly grateful for: bringing law enforcement professionals from across New York State together for a week dedicated to training, professional development, collaboration, and fellowship; all with a shared focus on serving our youth and strengthening the communities we represent.

Beginning after 3:00 PM today, officers will begin arriving in the Penn Yan area, and we are honored to welcome each and every one of you. The time, effort, and commitment required to step away from our agencies and our daily responsibilities to attend this conference is not lost on us. We sincerely appreciate the support of the agencies, supervisors, officers, instructors, sponsors, and everyone else who helped make this week possible.

For those of us who serve in law enforcement, we understand that our responsibility extends far beyond responding to calls. The relationships we build with young people, the knowledge we share with one another, and the partnerships we develop within our communities can have a lasting impact.

This conference is about becoming better at what we do, not simply for ourselves or our agencies, but for the young people and communities we have sworn to serve.

We are looking forward to a week of learning from one another, sharing experiences, strengthening partnerships, and returning home with new ideas and tools that can make a difference.

Safe travels to everyone making the journey. We are grateful to have you with us and honored to serve alongside you.
