Capital District Latinos is currently operating a culturally responsive food pantry out of their premises. All food is based on the amount of donations they receive. Due to the approach of the holiday season, and the ongoing government shut down they are finding that their reserves of perishables and non-perishable items, such as meats, eggs, milk, chicken fruits, vegetables, canned goods, are running desperately low.

At this current time, they are requesting donations with the purpose of replenishing their pantry, so that it offers the highest level of quality foods for those in need during the holiday season. We hope you can find it in your heart to assist them with a much-needed monetary donation. Please see attached flyer for more information. Checks can also be mailed payable to Capital District Latinos 160 central Ave, Albany, NY 12206.

We plan to have volunteers from the Capital Region Sanctuary Coalition to patrol the event to ensure there are no ICE agents attempting to enter or surveil the event. The City of Albany also plans to provide Know Your Rights cards to educate the public about their rights. We want everyone to feel safe!!

A giant of Latin Jazz and Salsa has expired. He was playing piano until his final days. May he rest in God's arms, now. 🙏 He has left a legacy, and will be sorely missed.
