It was great celebrating County Executive Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine at Citizens Campaign for the Environment Annual Gala.

Suffolk County has a long history of environmental conservation and support for renewable energy, and County Executive Romaine has been an important part of that legacy and advocacy.

Supporting CCE is easy. Their leadership and hard work ensure that the public, community leaders, and decision-makers have the information they need to understand the importance of renewable energy and its role in building a cleaner, more sustainable future.

Congratulations to CCE on another successful gala, and thank you for all you do for Long Island and New York’s environment.

🌊⚡ Taking a closer look at South Fork Wind!

NYOWA recently brought partners and stakeholders out on the water for a boat tour of South Fork Wind, giving attendees the opportunity to see America’s first utility scale offshore wind farm up close and learn more about its role in New York’s energy future.

The project is also delivering economic benefits, supporting 387 jobs and more than $95 million in total economic impact on Long Island.

A huge thank you to Sierra Club National Wildlife Federation and American Clean Power Association for helping make this experience possible, and to everyone who joined us on the water! 🌊

Thank you to NRDC, Oceantic Network, Eco Equity and the New York City Bar Association for hosting an important discussion. Defending America’s Energy Future through making sure our laws are upheld.

Attorneys General James and Bonta have been leading the way on making sure our laws are followed to protect offshore wind projects.

We need to create energy that is clean, reliable and made right here in the US. Offshore wind can stabilize pricing and provide an energy source that is reliable and without price fluctuations caused by geopolitical events. New York State Energy Research and Development Authority

Today NYOWA attended an event to talk about what is needed to push offshore wind forward globally as well as here in NYS.

It was great to hear from New York State Energy Research and Development Authority president and CEO Doreen Harris about how NYS is investing in ports and predevelopment for the offshore wind industry.

Hearing how the global market is investing in offshore wind shows that this is a large part of the future energy market across the globe.

Offshore wind is bringing more than clean energy to Long Island. 🌊⚡

A new analysis from the Long Island Association finds that South Fork Wind and Sunrise Wind are expected to generate more than $460 million in economic value for Long Island between 2022 and 2027, supporting hundreds of jobs and businesses across the region.

South Fork Wind alone generated nearly $96 million in total economic activity, supporting an estimated 387 jobs and $40 million in labor income. Meanwhile, Sunrise Wind is projected to generate more than $350 million in economic value for Long Island.

From local businesses and skilled trades to workforce training and long-term community investment, offshore wind is helping build economic opportunity across Long Island.

A major milestone for Propel NY Energy! ⚡️

The Propel NY Energy project has officially received its Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need, marking an important step forward for New York’s transmission infrastructure.

The approval follows years of planning, environmental and technical review, and community engagement, and moves the project closer to strengthening the reliability and resilience of New York’s electric grid.

It was great joining the Long Island Association for their Poolside Reception last night.

Always an awesome opportunity to connect with Long Island’s business, education, government and community leaders, and to catch up with some familiar faces.

Great seeing Legislator Jason Richberg, Senator Monica Martinez, Amy Ellis from Stony Brook University and, of course, Long Island Association Acting President Stacey Sikes.

Thanks to the LIA for hosting a great evening. Looking forward to continuing to work together to advance Long Island’s economic and energy future!
