Callaloo Theater Company

In 2000, Karen Christina Jones founded State St.

Theater Company, now Callaloo Theater Company, to provide eclectic theater for a diverse community. As a staple in the artistic community, Miss Jones has directed several groundbreaking and lucrative plays including, Clybourne Park, The Colored Museum, A Soldier’s Play, and A Raisin in the Sun. Miss Jones is the recipient of five awards from the Theater Association of New York State for her work.

As a member of the African American Cultural Center of the Capital Region (AACCCR), Miss Jones has worked tirelessly on several of its events as a part of the Programming Committee.
