On Friday, long time Give2theTroops volunteer and donor, Stephanie Thompson of Vancouver, WA passed away from cancer and heart failure.
This special lady was one of the OR/WA branch's first volunteer/donors. During the five years she served she made thousands of pocket-size memo books and hand crafted greeting cards for our troops. She also hosted regular community service events which resulted in hundreds of letters, notes, and posters to our troops. Below is a picture of Stephanie, center, at an event she organized and hosted when Andi Grant Edwards came to the Northwest. She is also pictured at one of our packing parties. And lastly at Fort Vancouver, where she organized one of regular note/letter writing events.
This wonderful woman will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

This email and pictures were dated April 19th. Their second box's postage was paid for by a group of volunteers who worked at our center.
We got your second package. So excited. We loved the drink mixes and you have no idea how much fun we had with the water guns. We fight over them LOL. The feminine products came in just in time. A lot of us females were running low. So thank you so much. The snacks that we love are the Ritz crackers with either peanut butter or cheese those always fly quick. As well as the jerky, the guys really go through those quick. The drink mixes are wonderful as well. We have more then plenty of girls scout cookies so we are good on them. Thank you again for your second care package. As its getting hotter and hotter here the packages sure cheer us up.
Sincerely thankful
SPC Evelyn Scranton from the 1011th QM CO.

While our center has been closed since May 30th, we have been receiving some pictures and thank you letters from some of our troops that we mailed boxes to in March. Here's one email I received on April 7th.
I wanted to email you all back and say what a wonderful surprise when we opened our box of goodies. There are 120 of us. I managed to get a pic of my shift with the goodies. We are divided into shifts. We are all so happy with the snacks you sent us. As you can imagine they went quick. Thank you for packing them so carefully. I can tell a lot if love went into the box. The letters touched my heart and made me super emotional. So glad that there are organizations and people like you all back home that remind us that we are not forgotten. ... Thank you again for your kindness and support.
SPC Scranton Evelyn.
