We celebrated our 5th anniversary as a Wild Ones chapter at our annual Membership Appreciation Garden Party, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Kelly Adirondack Center. 💚

From reflecting on a year of growth and accomplishments to unveiling our beautifully designed Native Planting Guide and electing our new board officers, there was much to celebrate!

Members mingled, enjoyed an icebreaker game, won raffle prizes, and received beautiful journals to mark the launch of our new guide. 📖🌱

Here’s to five wonderful years of cultivating community, championing native plants, and growing a more biodiverse future—together! 🌻💚

🌿 Columbia County Garden Tours — Rescheduled! 🌿

Our September 20th garden tour has been rescheduled. We’re excited to welcome members on Sunday, October 11th, for a special afternoon exploring two inspiring landscapes in Kinderhook. 🍂

Discover beautiful gardens, gather ideas, and enjoy the creativity and stewardship of fellow native-plant enthusiasts. 🌱

🌾 Mills Hill Park is a one-acre meadow in its 10th year of growth, created through a collaboration between dedicated volunteers and Kinderhook’s Department of Public Works. What was once a mowed green space is now a thriving managed meadow, complete with a winding grass path and the Empire Trail running through its heart.

🌱 Then, explore Sigrid G.’s incredible one-acre landscape, where 85–90% of the property is planted with native species. Aside from the house, barn, and paths—there’s no lawn in sight! Through plugs and seeds, Sigrid has created a landscape that celebrates the beauty and abundance of native plants.

The garden trilogy comes full circle! Join Wild Ones Capital Region for the autumn viewing of Genoveffa’s expansive gardens on Friday, October 2. 🌿🍁

After seeing the garden earlier in the season, come discover how it has transformed as autumn settles in—the colors, textures, seed heads, and late-season beauty that make a native garden so captivating.

Genoveffa, longtime Wild Ones Capital Region member and current Vice President, is opening her garden to members for the third and final visit of the season.

Come get your hands dirty with us one last time this season! 💚 We’re gathering at our Wild Ones Capital Region demonstration garden and would love your help giving it a little end-of-summer TLC.
